Why Islam - Results
Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,
As you know, "Why Islam" had no humor in it and I wasn't sure how the YouTube audience was going to react since the YouTube site is pretty much an entertainment site. I mean they have millions of videos to choose from and everything is watch on a volunteer basis. Since it the Internet, they can be as honest as they want to be. Nevertheless, the stats of the "Why Islam" actually surprised me.Of course, you'll have ignorant people commenting but that was expected but we have received a lot of emails about people who are interested in this beautiful Deen. Alhamdulillah all the success is only because of Allah (swt). By the way, the reason I mention such results is to inspire others that we can make a difference and we don't have to compromise our beliefs in order to get people to listen. If anything, I think people respect that you're straightforward and honest rather than trying to please them.
Although I film the videos, the real credit for the effort goes to those who aren't recognized. There are the ones who promote the videos, post it up on their websites and blogs, and send it to their email lists. Otherwise, the videos would only reach a small audience. Alhamdulillah with the efforts of all those who have supported the ideas they see from these videos, we have been able to reach nearly 2 million YouTube video views which is purely amazing. This does not include the millions of people who may have viewed them on Islam Channel. Its funny that I use to just get interviews from Muslim newspapers but when I do an article about the impact of Viral Video on YouTube for mainstream media, I know that the videos have reached much farther than I ever expect.
Alhamdulillah

Salam Waleikoum brother Ali,
I am not surprise at all about the success of your last video. While the both seasons, you have reached many hearts in speaking sincerly about the beauty of islam. You have won a faithful audience and interest a new audience by your relevant speech, that's why, in spite of the abscence of humour in last one, people still like it!
So, i encourage you to carry on for a season 3 with humour in it next time!
Salam,
Walaikum Salam wa Rahmatullah,
I recently completed the three extra videos (that are coming out on the new DVD debuting on August 13th InshAllah) and they are follow the same "serious comedy" format at the previous videos. The "Why Islam" video was an exception.

i just wanted to thank u for ur efforts i really enjoyed watching ur videos...but... about the last video 'why islam' in my opinion u should not say that there are some who want to represent islam as a violent religion in order to achive their own purposes..because first of all we don't know 'their' true purposes and OK we know as muslim that IT IS a peacful religon BUT dont forget that there is BUT..

Asalam Alaikum,
Could you do a video on domestic violence/abuse/verbal abuse since it seems to be a real problem with some Muslim families? A lot of times the issue gets swept under the rug and people pretend like it doesn't exist or there are cultural taboos concerning the mere discussing of it. This is not doing our sisters or their children who go through this any justice. To deny the problem is the same as being part of the problem. Of course it is not from Islam, but many Muslim men forget that.
"Never hit the handmaids of Allah" (found in the hadith collections of Abu Daud, Nasa'l, Ibn Hibban, and Bayhaqi)
Thank you for all your videos.
