oh i can relate to certain aspects of former friends.

My friends once said to me salma, your Islam is 'pick and choose' nobody would ever accept it - if you people ocntinue to mix it with culture and tradtion and u'll be held accountable on yawmul qiyamah.

:) may Allah accept from you and hold you steadfast on his path, AMEN!

Jazak Allah Khairan for telling your story, I'm still confused about your past religion, paganism was it? not that it is important anymore.

I think that you asked a very crucial question, on The Day, all of the misguided people will come to the Muslims they knew and ask them: WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US?

so if you really like someone, who is not a Muslim yet, this is the least you can give him/her, the gift of an eternal life in Allah's paradise, inshaAllah.

may Allah reward you, Ali, for the first season, may it be in your scroll when nothing is good for one except his good sincere deeds.

I look forward to watching the second season, I hope it comes out soon and I also look forward to the new website ;)

may Allah reward all of the brothers and sisters who made this blog possible, who spread the word around and who supported Ummah Films by feedback and by buying the shirts.

AMEN AMEN AMEN

Mashallah, it was only through Allah's mercy to you that you found Islam.
Thank you for sharing. :)
and thank you for the other videos, like you said before, they say things that people think but never say outloud, and alhamdulillah over 130,000 people have seen them (trust me there's like twice as much more who just don't comment).
Thank you for reminding us.

shukr liLlah that Ali has been enabled to make these videos, surely the inspiration of many muslims the world over towards renewing their striving in this faith.

alhamduliLlah, my friend and I were inspired by Ali to make our own try at the video blog thing, we are young and still trying to learn the deen well, and insha'allah we will become more discriminate and knowledgable, but still, we wished to make this video as an expression of the profound way that islam has changed our lives. We made this video for Allah (subhan wa ta'ala), and not for viewers, while our first video was made for users, and not Allah. Alhamdulillah that Ali has guided us towards the right reasons for making this video. Insha'Allah we will learn Islam better so that can make more educated blogs. We have a long way to go, both in editing style and content, but we try, and Insha'Allah He recognizes our efforts, not just our (far from perfect) tries at the video blog. JZK, -Ahmad

To those wanting an Ummah Films Myspace page:

I wanted to add that the Myspace from the brother is a group page, not a regular Myspace page.

I might create a regular page for Ummah Films, but is it necessary?

I ask because many of the viewers and fans have watched the vlogs on Youtube and Google. Will Myspace dramatically increase viewership by a lot? If not, why even bother with creating a Myspace?

i dont think even u realise how much uve influenced/affected people and still will influece/affect people seeing as us die hard "appreciaters" (i dont use the word fans) will spread the word round

insha'Allah Allah will bless you and keep u on the straight and narrow and that u get time to create a second season as ur lifestyle allows coz u know we gonna be waiting for it *you know wha m sayin?!?* lol

jokes, but seriously, ur one special dude, coz it takes a lot of willpower to do any one of the things uve done in ur life but MashaAllah uve overcome these hurdles.

anyhu, you have fun with ur (little mind you!) break and us lot will continue to our job as best we can to impersonate u to our mates and make sure u get linked everywhere! oh sugar! someone went one step further and made a ummah films account, i just posted them all in my profile ..

hmmm, have you actually checked that MySpace account? yeah, those almost naked girls!

I don't know what good could MySpace bring to Ummah Films, however, if there is no way but to have a friends list and to show pictures of commenters then I don't think that it is a good idea. I don't think that you guys would want to be a part of spreading these pictures of almost naked people. so much nonsense is on MySpace, inshaAllah I plan to write about it in my blog ;)

For now, I don't see a "need" for a Myspace page. We have a fan who already created a group fan page for Ummah Films, so I guess that is suffice for now.

We have been 1000s of views on Youtube alone, so I don't see a rush to get a Myspace page anytime soon.

I agree with brother Firas. When I clicked this link http://groups.myspace.com/ummahfilms I noticed on the bottom of the page!
so many un-Islamic stuff . And some brother's myspace with Ummah films logo had so many naked ladies as friend list; I mean so many of them, like porn stars or something! What kind of message we are sending here now.

I really respect Brother Ali, for all his efforts and time and may Allah bliss him.

Salam Alaikoom,

Your videos were really great. Not only were they funny and beneficial (islamically), I really felt like it made me look at myself spiritually much more and generally at my life and what I have and haven't been doing to truly serve Allah (swt) and Islam. Times change, and unfortunately not a lot of high school or college students (young adults) have the interest in attending lectures on a regular basis. Mashallah, brother Ali you really used the internet and specifically something, us as young adults are so into (blogs, youtube, etc)- into something very beneficial and islamic. Jazak Allah ookhairun for all your efforts, it's served as a reminder for myself as well as thousands of others- potentially putting as back on track, especially during times like these it's like we need that reminder every now and then. It's people like you who help keep this ummah on top of its feet. Can't wait for season 2 :)

As salaam alaykum,

Ahh a breath of fresh air! I'm really glad someone showed me this site so I could watch your videos (be enetertained but get a deeper meaningful message at the same time). I'm glad someone has the brains and guts to something for the muslims and ummah.....I'm sick of those people on tv who haven't the foggiest about Islam but ramble on anyway-just like you were saying..*who hijacked my religion*

You say all the things we think... which means when I'm listening to you I'm constantly nodding in agreement!

Anyway, I can't wait for season 2..If you do read this then HURRY UP and get some more videos done lol

See you very soon brother Ali..(I have an Iranian brother named Ali and you're both veryy alike lol) ...I have no idea why I told you but what the hey LOL

Assalamu Alaikum brother,

This has got to be my favorite episode(well $25,000 was awesome too, BUT I love all your episodes!)It was funny yet hearing about your transition to Islam was very moving. Unfortunately many Muslims can relate to your story. Educating Muslims and reminding us about the rights and wrongs of Islam in these episodes are very effective, and can't wait till Season 2. And yes, I subscribed :).

God Bless You Brother. What you're doing is SO good. I wish I was as talented as you, because I bet the feeling of knowing you have 125,000 wanting to what you have to see about Islam is rewarding, and I know that feeling...PRICELESS.

Salam,

Maryam

Wow, public access station. A good idea, but of course arranging the time to do it will be a factor. I am also not sure if it is free, I know it's free in other places but I don't know about stations in the LA area.

But it seems that the Internet attracts more viewers than public access TV, so for now, it's the Internet.

A salaam ualeikum!
Very interesting!may Allah swt bless you with the best, amiin.
I look forward to episode 2.

"Actions speak louder than words" this is so true.

May we all be good exampels for everyone around us muslims and
--> non muslims. How many times have I not heard "I am happy that I became muslim before I met muslims", and what can I say this includes even myself.Alhamdulillah that I found islam before I found all thease different groups in islam and ppl trying to make their group sound better than the other ones and so on...
Another interesting thing is that many muslims think that as fast as they talk to non muslims they dont need to respect them ..They seem to forget that we should behave good with EVERYONE.
Our beloved Profet Muhammed saaw is our best exampe in how to treat ppl around us muslims or non muslims.

"A ambassador for islam" we should not forget that the way we behave will be counted as "those muslims" /"they" and so on So always be a person for someone to model themselves on.

of course I don't mind. I actually encourage people to put the videos up on their site, or put links to their site to Ummah Films InshAllah. My goal with these videos is to reminder myself and remind others InshAllah.

The reward of the hereafter is more precious to me than anything I can get from this life InshAllah. Success is not these videos going nationwide..that is only a temporary success. I'm much more interested in having more good deeds on my scale on the Day of Judgment InshAllah...if there is any day that I can have success, it will be that Day.

May Allah (swt) reward all of you who send the videos and remind those around you InshAllah. I hope this in the generation that comes back to Islam. InshAllah.

What Islam permits in contrast to Hasad (destructive jealousy) is Ghibtah (envy that is free from malice), which means neither loving the loss of the blessing nor hating for it to remain with the person, but desiring the same for oneself without the removal of the blessing from others.

Mashallah Ali, you really have done a great job with these videos. Not only have you made it entertaining, but by using this method you brought many people, especially youths, to come and use it as a source of knowledge...(or like you say it: "...reminding you just incase you forgot"...because unfortunatly the society we live in today, we usually get all caught up within these worldly things and we do tend to FORGET! )

Sometimes us youth JUST like to LISTEN to other youths who are experiencing the same obstacles in life. You brought great LIFE and ENERGY into these videos. I will be looking forward to the next season, and will most definatly show all my friends and family this great site!

May Allah SWT keep on blessing and reward you!

Aslamualaikum Wara7matullah Wa Barakatuh brother Ali,

I just wanted to sincerely say Jazakallah Kheir for all your efforts in sharing with your brothers and sisters all over the world so many beneficial... not to mention hysterically funny videos about Islam and everything we all go through and experience in our lives as Muslims but never really emphasize or comment on.

May Allah bless your time and protect you and grant you the best of this life and the next; and may Allah make the path of paradise easy for you; and may He help you show people the truth about Islam in the best way Inshallah Bisalami. Ameen.

Your time and efforts do not go unnoticed and know that we all appreciate what you are doing! Keep it up..and like others mentioned, there are many, many more people who love your videos but do not post on this website...

Take care and keep those episodes coming Inshallah..

Asalam Alaikum Warahmatullah wa Barakatu.

Greetings from Spain.

I just don't get a thing _maybe it's because of the language barrier, why didn't you do the both things, respecting your sick father and girlfriend and learning Islam? No people around me has got shocked since I reverted to Islam, most the contrary, they help me to live my Din properly, Alhamdulillah.

Maybe your intolerance to every non-muslim guys comes from something which has nothing to do with Islam.

Oh, and by the way, brother _ hijab is not a Pillar of Islam. Although I will cover completely my neck when you post your films with a kufi or turban... well, even if you take a baseball cup, I'll cover my neck.

And I will be the same muslimah with it.

but just looking at this video..it just made me think how people born in such an exceptional religion take it to their advantage and never really follow it..from their heart...

..and i am no exception

but bro ur video did leave me thinking..

thanx..May you always be on the right path...Inshallah

i think ur site is very cool
i am a young teenager who attends an islamioc school. i first found out about ur videos in february, but recently a couple of friends were talking about how cool ur videos are, and we wanted to tell every one in our middle school. recently we were learning about hypocrits in our islam class, we told our teacher about ur videos and she allowed us to watch them with the rest of the class, they all thought the video was really cool and ever scence that every one in our school is talking about them. thank u so much for inspiring us.

Asalaamu Alaykum Ali

JazakAllah Khair for your story and wonderful message Mash' Allah!

I am a relatively new Muslim as well, and I feel so completely grateful to Allah(SWT) for surrounding me with wonderful Brothers and Sisters Mash'Allah to see Islam in every day life, actions..the way Rasoolallah (SAWS) taught us. Subuhana Allah!

I can say had my first exposer to Islam been with many of the brothers and sisters I see here in the West. I may not have become Muslim. Only Allah(SWT) knows!

I can say that many do not act as the proper "ambassadors of Islam" that we should be! and one may never know who is watching carefully in curiousity, with respect, or what may touch another by Allah(SWT) Will.
Most of all Allah(SWT) is always watching, He (SWT) hears, sees, and knows all that each one of us do, think, say or do not do!
Subuhana Allah!

Some wonderful points for all to reflect on. AlhamduliAllah!

asalamalaykum,

I also converted when I was young (17) and my parents were also crazy. It is nice for new converts to know when they are facing difficult situations because of their conversion, that many of us had to face the same challenges. Allah Ta'ala is the Most Powerful and is on our side not theirs and we should out our trust in Allah Ta'ala and follow His path.

Assalam alaykom wr wb

MashaAllah, subhanAllah & alhamdulillah for leading you to the right path, the path of Islam.

You joining Islam as many other brothers and sisters enriches Islam.

InshaAllah you will all be rewarded for your good deeds. I was just wondering why you couldn't have english subtitles for people who don't know English that well? Or even subtitles in many other languages? Why not make good work like this reach out to everyone out there?

Keep up the good work and inshaAllah you will be all rewarded in paradise!

Well it seems like you really evaluated everything and found the truth... or did you? Do you think the true God would look at your works and consider you able to enter heaven? No one is perfect and no matter what we do, we will not be perfect, unless God intervenes and makes us perfect. Even if you walk the line of Islam religion, praying 5 times a day, practicing in Ramadan, etc., you still will make mistakes and sin against God. Now what makes sense to me is that God did do an act to make us perfect, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, who is sinless, to die on a cross and take the punishment of sin for us, and resurrect so that we may be made perfect before God in Him. Now I know there are a lot of Christian hypocrites out there, but your own friends were hypocrites in the Islamic way, so how can you judge Christianity so quickly? Also, Christ died so that we may be "a chosen people, a royal priesthood,a holy nation..." (1 Peter 2:9). I noticed you said you thought Christians have a priest "ruling" over them, but we are all priests if we believe in Jesus Christ and follow His teachings. So I would suggest searching into the person of Jesus Christ more before considering Islam is the right way. Not to tell you what to do, but just a suggestion. Take care Baba Ali, thanks for sharing your story!

so what will you say on the day of judgement when God asks you why you left your dying dad to go to a camp?
and what will you say when he asks why you treated your long-time girlfriend like SHIT after only one day at the camp?
to convert to islam it seems you hurt and disrespected a lot of people around you.

Very insightful and intellectual indeed. Masha'Allah

Amongst all the videos I've watched in this site, not a single one has failed to move me.. They've made me laugh as well as caused me to shed tears upon realization or enlightenment. Please keep on making 'em videos, inspiring and motivating both Muslims and non-Muslims. Insha'Allah. Thanks a million (for reminding me in case I forgot). Haha and I thank God for having discovered this site (through a cousin of mine, thanks Aman). Alhamdulillah

Salam ya akhii
It'll be really cool if you could call for the unity of Muslim youths around the globe.
I would love to see how our religion can negate cultural/linguistic differences.
It'll be nice to share experiences with my Muslim brothers and sisters.
We could have a nice little online community.
I don't mean to sound overly optimistic, but who knows it could even develop to a stage where we could plan exchange visits and stuff.
Would love to experience everyday life as a Muslim in another country.

Salam from Singapore. =)

I really can’t buy this person at all. He’s an Iranian who’s not suffered the atrocity those Iranian young boys and girls have suffered and are suffering, having lived his life in America!
That is why he can praise Islam because he has no idea how it feels living under Islamic subjugation as a young person!
If he had had lived his life in Iran, I swear to God or Allah if you prefer as someone who’s been brain-washed by Arabic Culture and not by Real Islam because Arabs are a racist and arrogant nation and their arrogance has been blamed by God even in Koran. That’s why they insist to impose their language and culture to the whole world in the name of Islam whereas according to the real Islamic ideology, Islam is a global religion therefore, you don’t have to become an Arab in order to become a Muslim. You can keep your cultural appearance, name etc. and still be a Muslim but NO… They insist you have to grow a beard right after conversion, choose an “Arabic” name NOT “Islamic Name” because there is no such thing as Islamic Name being Islam a global religion and learn Arabic because you wouldn’t be a Muslim if you don’t pray to God or the Arabic God, Allah, if you don’t speak to him in Arabic! Apparently, God is an Arab and would not understand any language other than Arabic!
This person on the other hand has suffered some frustration in America which is not very hard to see what his frustrations has been! How can I see that?! It’s easy! He’s playing cool, funny, open-minded, even trying to be somewhat sexy! Where has he learned all these things?! To his admission, he’s been hanging out with white Americans and has been drinking, clubbing, chasing girls etc. He obviously has not been received well to his liking and has been disappointed and that’s why he’s become a Islam Lover. He’s fighting back! I think this guy’s so called activities are based on sheer selfish motive; therefore I cannot buy it or hoopla for it!

Hi Ali, a friend passed on a link to one of your videos today. Wow, it just astonishes me how you decided to put up a video blog like this. And some of the content that you've said really surprised me how you've really really taken the time and effort to understand Islam at its fullest! Really happy for you! I'm hoping to convert one day, just waiting for the right moment.

Asalaamu alaikum Baba Ali,

I just want to thank you so much for making these videos, i am only thirteen but these videos are ever so meaningful. I luv the one about hijabs and ur so right, backbiting on a sr who doesnt wear hijab is unfair. I was wondering if u cud do something on forced marriages. I know sumone who is experiancing sum difficulty (if i say anything to her parents then i will get in trouble) so if u have any ideas it wud be so nice. I no it takes a lot of time to make these videos but my friends parents need sumone to tell them. Jazzakallah.

May Allah bless you and give you Jannah Inshallah.
