Ummah Films website coming soon!

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

Imanstudios.com will be building the upcoming Ummah Films website InshAllah. The blog has been growing and things aren't always easy to find so InshAllah the website will make it a little easier. We are thinking about adding a FAQ section and maybe even a forum to exchange ideas and network with others. Don't worry, we're still keeping the blog! After I designed the Mecca to Medina game, Iman Studios designed a themed website from scratch. The game quickly became the #1 Muslim game in the market and featured on Yahoo, Google News, various Muslim Magazines, radio show, and even got a 30 minute spot on Bridges TV. Check out the interview here.

Alhamdulillah, we are now reached the 120,000+ views on Youtube and there is a large audience watching the videos. I pray to Allah (swt) to keep our intentions pure as this success and this dunyah is all temporary (nothing more than a trial). In my du'ah I constantly pray to Allah (swt) to bring me closer to companions and projects that we bring me closer to Him InshAllah and to take me away from companions and projects that take me away from Him. I hope Ummah Films is one of the types of projects that will benefit me on the Last Day InshAllah.

If you have any ideas for sections on the upcoming website, please post them in the comments.

JazakAllah khair

A forum will be a lot of work and maintanence. You guys get a lot of hits, so imagine if you make a forum everyone will be joining. It sounds good, right? But then you guys will have countless pointless arguments and controversial posters.

I like the blog better, less fitna.

Anyways, I can't wait for the site.

Also, i know this is probably posted too late for you to make another video blog ... but anyways, maybe you could make something about war relations between countries.. and the sunnah for what used to happen, like the rulings in the shari'a for the correct forms of engagement during war... the humane way that civilians, their property and other matters of importance are dealt with in the Quran and sunnah and implemented by the early muslims.. demostrates that what some people are doing in the name of islam today...is unjustifiable...and also this might help heal the wounds.. even if ever so slightly of what's happening in palestine and lebanon at the moment with the war...

that said, i'd also like to state that in islam only the soldiers can be targetted during war... in israel approximately 2/3 or 1/3 of the adult population are enlisted in the army..and remember, israeli doesn't automatically equal jewish .. i'd like to leave it on that note...and as someone who fled from a war-torn country ... i am always deeply distrubed to see the unnecessary loss and waste of any human life... war these days is being entered into without enough thought...maybe the politicians who make the decisions to go and have wars with other countries should go out and see the 'fruits' of their labour so to speak, maybe when they see the loss of lives with a human face... especially that of small children... it'll make them think atleast twice before ever entering into a war again

because there is something maddening about seeing little body after little body being carried out of the rubble

things can be bought, but human life is priceless

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatAllah,

TOTALLY Agree with Bro MujahideenRyder..

Trust me from someone who's been around the forum 'buzz.' It not only sometimes causes you to waste valuable time with your projects trying to maintain it. Just too much hassle having someone watch it and moderate it constantly. That and well you know there are sites out there dedicated solely to give bad rep to muslim sites. A forum only makes you one up on that radar; why you might ask? Well you have 120,000 views right, lets say you get 10,000 (way over estimating keeping in mind) posters. What would these posters be Talking about what?... YOUR BLOG 24/7 UMMAH FILMS BENEFICIAL GEM PACKED POSTS? Probably not. It might actually end up BEING a deterrant for some... and cause more harm than good. Trust me bro, keep doing what you're doing, one of the basic things to understand when undertaking a project: NEVER RE-INVENT THE WHEEL. That's why we follow the SUNNAH (the way that was est.) of the Prophet salAllahu a'laihee wa salam, he paved us the way for us to worship Allah ta'la, that's why we don't invent ways to worship Him. Now take that and use it in this case, there are plenty of forums, now you might want to hear suggestions and etc, there IS A LOT of benefit from them, so here's the thing, how can we maximize the benefit of forum without having all the negatives?

THAT is key. Don't re-invent the wheel. Follow up on something successful and leave a path (sunnah) for others to follow you. Which Alhamdulillah you have done with this VERY BLOG!!! And Allah truly rewards those who are sincere..
And as Allah says,

"Except for those who repent, correct themselves, hold fast to Allah , and are sincere in their religion for Allah , for those will be with the believers. And Allah is going to give the believers a great reward."(An Nisa)

May Allah give you that great reward, bro. Keep it up.

And p.s.

Some heads up.. keep your eye open for something your blog inspired -)... i'll keep you updated.

WAllahu A'lam
WAssalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatAllah

Bismillah :)

it's funny that you hear our youth talk about not talking!

it is always good to talk and discuss things when knowledge and good intentions are present, in fact, I believe that one of the major causes of the broken link between our youth and their parents is not talking.

refer to brother Ali's VB as he has explained this.

another broken link, a rather more general one at the level of the Ummah at large is between the "practicing" Muslims and the "non-practicing" Muslims, each group doesn't speak to the other and that has harmed both.

reading through the comments of our beloved brothers and sisters, I can see that many of them do not have the proper understanding of Islam (according to all different opinions, not just the one I follow), some of them are trying to gain it, some of them are far from it.

the propher صلى الله عليه و سلم says: "the best of you is who learns Quran and teaches it"

of course there are many Quranic sciences for one to learn.

I see no wrong in initiating forums for dicussing issues of Islam and arts, in fact I believe it is a necessity, for, truly, art is one of the most universal methods for a civilization to reach out, what better civilization to take the lead than our Islamic one?

these forums will be of great benefit to establish the right ideas of the UF productions for those who are not sure, they will have more details for those who are interested to learn more and a windows for those who have questions...rather than having comments that go in so many directions, we will have guided discussions and instructive critisizim... a space for those who would like to contribute ideas, thoughts or even transcripts.

have no worry about managing these forums, these brothers and sisters at least have experience from 2 others good forums that I know of.

I dont see anyone "re-inventing" the wheel, in the matter of fact, I would like to advise everyone not to only think of a bad experince or two they have had with forums, it's true they can get nasty, but with the right people and principles, I know they can work.

we shall not care about those who spread hatred and misguidance, rather we shall do all that is in our abilities to spread the light of Islam, I mean if we are going to respond to every ignorant who speaks bad of Islam or a certain Islamic effort, we will end up in caves (ever observed Western media?). if our intentions are solely for Allah, we will not have to give attention to their rants.(refer to Ali's VB on this topic too)

now regarding the sections-to-be, I suggest 3 main sections:
1- "Feature Production", that the UF crew is working on, in this section there should be: trailers, Status Indicator, a sub-blog for updates, excperts from the transcript and so on.

2- "Series & Past Productions", pretty much VBs, clips and links to related topics on the forums and download/play links.

3- "Talk Space", for online interaction with UF's audience: comments, FAQ, discussions, related links, knowledge base, smiliar videos by others and so on.

As-salaamu `alaikum,

Finally Ummah Films has a Wikipedia article:

We insha Allah plan to update the article as soon as any new developments occur.

Can't wait for the new website. I also agree with MR. A forum means a lot of dramatic threads, but at the same time can be a very educational thing. It all depends on the people that join, and their willingness to be mature.

I've been around way too many forums and I can tell you it all depends on who is allowed to register.

suggestions for a website:

1) A Fact or Myth portion, where you post an Islamic myth and then post the Islamic Fact with Quranic support

2) Basics of Islam like the 5 pillars can be found all over the net. I wouldn't put too much that can really be found by using google. Maybe a community based link system, where your viewers add links by category. For example, a good link to website explaining Madhabs. Sunnipath.net is a good site but I'm sure there's more. (how to pray, how to learn arabic, software, etc...)

3) Media link, so you can link your videos. If you have the bandwidth, maybe post Nasheeds or other videos.

4) A weekly post made by a viewer. Will give the chance for a regular visitor a chance to post an article. (make regular visitors feel like they are part of the Ummah Films community and not just readers of a blog)

I will have more ideas later, haha.

1- ermmm....an Islamic Myth?

how can it be Islamic and myth in the same time? Islam is true, a myth is not!

2- Basics of Islam? I think that many Islamic websites were created for this very purpose, featuring links will do just fine; knowing the purpose of Ummah Films.

3 and 4 pretty much agree with my suggestions :)

Jazak Allah Khairan, still waiting for that explanation!

oh yeah and THANK YOU for not being Anonymous no more! lol

Start small; think big. Allah created the heavens and the Earth in six days; not all at once and he likes that which is done little but often - this is his sunnah, which we are invited to follow, so Allah will love us:

Start by sorting all of the information you have for the site, logically into as few groups as possible and then, as the information in each group grows, add more groups, as appropriate.

Agree with bro Adnan Mole,

K.I.S.S. principle:
Keep It Simple Stupid.

i like the "feature production"

have another "Interested in Islam? THE BASICS" - a video here would be cool too. and some links

like islamguide.com or something.

"How to" - for how to go about making a video (i'd just link this blog because if you go back to january and follow along it's an EXCELLENT guide masha'Allah).

"Contact us"

"About us" - how'd you get started, etc. it'd be cool if this was a video too. WE WANNA KNOW ABOUT YOU BRO! WHAT INSPIRED YOU!!! -D.

"speak ya mind" - Suggestions/Forum, etc.

"The Vault" - all the archives for the vids easily accessible

"Media link" as previously suggested

just flooding you with ideas.

Ideas for site:

1) Top ten tips of whatever (How to...)
2) A weekly column from yourself on whatever you fancy (Current affairs/bug bear/new thing you've found etc)
3) Weekly video
4) A little snippet from islamic history
