Supporting Ummah Films

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

After getting enough requests, I decided to make the Ummah Films t-shirts. I went with the design that everyone voted on in the blog. Alhamdulillah they arrived this weekend and I got both t-shirts and long sleeves in sizes L , XL, and XXL.

The videos have been watched by 85,000+ viewers, Alhamdulillah. SubhanAllah, I had no idea on the amount of responses and positive emails I would be getting from viewers from around the world. JazakAllah khair for all your inspiring comments and emails.

I was very surprised to see that a lot of non-Muslims watch the show. I was even more surprised when I read the number of positive emails that came from non-Muslims. Since 9/11, the media has really put out a negative stereotype on Muslims and Islam and it was refreshing to hear that there are many non-Muslims out there who don't just blindly follow whatever garbage the media dishes.

These videos have been really spreading via word of mouth so I would like to thank everyone for letting others know about them. I really want to message to get out to as many viewers as possible so I have decided to drop the price on all the shirts, long sleeve or t-shirt, all sizes including XXL2, to $10. Yes, $10! I haven't found any other shirts on the net with that price especially long sleeve or shirts in XXL (which usually cost more)

After getting enough requests, I decided to make the Ummah Films t-shirts. I went with the design that everyone voted on in the blog. Alhamdulillah.

Please support Ummah Films
(broken link fixed!)
JazakAllah khair

your brother in Islam,

Ali

walaikum salam wa rahmatulillahi,

Yes the success is ONLY in Allah (swt) hands. What we must do is put in the effort InshAllah. This is why I say Alhamdulillah so many times in emails, my posts, and my comments. For the non-Muslims who read the comments, Alhamdulillah means ALL Praise is Due to Allah.

Often times I come across Muslims who just give up. Before Ummah Films, I had started other projects, some of which I was laughed at when I initialally brought them up and Alhamdulillah many of them were very successful. The power of Du'ah is very powerful.

The reason I started this blog was to keep a track record of Ummah Films from Day 1 to show people what was involved in getting an idea started and to show the failures and success of what works and doesn't work InshAllah. I figured people can learn from our mistakes so they could avoid them. At the same time, I wanted to show that if you put in your effort and make du'ah to Allah (swt), many great things can happen. Sometimes you may not see the success, sometimes you do.

Nevertheless, it is always motivational when you see the fruits of your work. I hope these success of these projects motivates others who have the resources to do projects that benifit others InshAllah.

Shaitan (Satan) often uses success, fame, beauty, money, etc...to make you think you are better than others. This type of thought can lead to arrogancea and it is very well known that if you have even an atom of arrogance in your heart, you won't even smell paradise. We must constantly remind ourselves that everything is from Allah (swt).

JazkAllah kair for your comment

Assalaamualikum Wa Rahmutullah Brother Ali,

I am a first time visitor to ur site and videos....mashallah they are hilarious and totally true...its about time our own Muslims start producing films on the lives and thoughts of the average Muslim....what u have done is so small in concept yet is a great advancement for the American born Muslims....by reaching out to a larger audience and showing the human side to being a muslim and depicting our daily trials in a humorous manner...two thumbs up and all five stars bro....

Oh, another thing i wanted to mention was the ISNA convention that is coming up in Chicago...its a great opportunity for u to promote ur work and sell ur t-shirts....thats if u haven't already looked into it...check out ISNA.net out for booth details...

Wasalaam,

Ur sis in Islam

Assalam Alaikum,

How's it going bro? Keep up the good work.

Check out the lecture by Imam Anwar al Awlaki entitled, "Allah is preparing us for victory". You'll find it here:

http://www.uponsunnah.com/awlaki.php?

That would be interesting if you can make a video on this subject.

Take Care,
Samir

Salam

I converted to Islam may years ago as a teenager. In the early years because I knew only the basic foundation of Islam, I was both confused and overwhelmed by the range of behaviors I encountered among Muslims.

The mixing of culture with Islam is a very entrenched and dangerous practice amoung a large percentage of the muslim population. Many individuals include not only culture but superstition as well.

I was told by an Arab woman once that because I have 3 sons, I must have them enter from different doors or the other women would be jealous and put the "evil eye" on me.

My immediate reaction was to laugh which greatly offended her. She was quite serious about the whole thing.

First of all if these other women are Muslim why would they be putting the "evil eye" on me. Second where is the justice in that. Are you seriously tellling me that although Allah has the power to bless me a jealous person has the ability to overide that and curse me?

Your video on culture was dead on and I'm very proud of your choice to use your God Given talent to inform, educated and get people to actually start THINKING about Islam.

The tired, outdated way of presenting and discussing Islam is causing an enormous lack of interest among young, vibrant, intelligent people. Today's genration doesn't want to just live it they want to feel it. Quran warns against doing things because that's the way it's always been done. You've had the courage to do what's right even though it's different and I thank you for that. Keep up the good work.

Asalamualeikum,

I think these videos are fantastic!

Just one thing, if you can get some t-shirts made in smaller sizes for us sisters that would be really great!

Thanks

Salam Alaikum waramatulah wabarakatu

Brother this is brilliant work. For real. This is excelent. I nearly cried when i realised the types of different people Allah brings to Islam. I saw all your blogs in a single afternoon. Then i told every body on myislamweb about it.

I am so happy that finaly a muslim is using the media and technology to Islam advantage. I am tired of getting mail about what some newspaper, magazine or celebrety said about Islam. It is high time WE invested in Islamic media. Big ups brother. Your sense of humpur rocks and what you say is so true. Inhs Allah this is only the beggining for you. Our youth needs these sorts of projets. They no longer identify with the deen. The keep thinking it belongs in the past.

Could you do a blog about the following: Since I reverted every body asks me the followimg questions: i)Did i change my name - as if i HAVE to, ii) Why do I want to follow an Indian/Arab religion? iii) do i only eat spicy food now? iv) am i a terrorist? v) what if my future husband gets FOUR WIVES? and my personal favorite..."why do you wrapp that thing arround your head and wear such baggy clothes? How will you ever get a man? AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Man, it'; annoying.

Anyway, May Allah bless you, your familly and your viwers and give you all that is good in this life and in the here after and protect us from the fires of jihanab.

Technology truly is an inescapable aspect of our daily lives, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as memory gets less expensive, the possibility of downloading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about almost every day.
