Pursuit of Cleanliness - Season 2 - Ummah Films
Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,
Cleanliness is half our deen but if you walk into many of the Masjids, you would have no idea. I figured since there are millions of people are watching, I would do a video covering the topic since its such a big part of Deen.
I apologize for the delay of the video release. I was suppose to upload it last night but I didn't have Internet access since I was visiting Sacramento for an event there.

What can you say? Clear and to the point...I liked the interpretations of the various water jugs, lol. I have to admit I had to think twice unitl I got what u meant by the 'bachelors water bottle'. Hope the masjids will be at least slightly cleaner after this video. After all, 1/2 million ppl watch ur videos...! jazakallah khair for your efforts and may they remain sincere and blessed. I didn't know there were so many types of water jugs.lol. I'm glad i'm not the only one who freakes out when I see pee on the toilet seat.The worst part is when you really have to go but you have to stop and clean the toliet seat first. After a while you stop trusting it's clean and you keep cleaning it everytime. I'm no freak I just don't want to be filled with another persons pee. Cleanliness is from iman, dirtiness is from shaytan. I need to show this to the rest of my family maybe they'll understand my dilemma.

I absolutely love your videos, and, as a convert to Islam, sometimes I am aware of these issues and sometimes I am not. What I find interesting, brother, is that even though I have often noticed the "old school bottles," not a single person has ever mentioned to me or explained to me anything about Islamic bathroom etiquitte. For a while I didn't even know why that bottle was there...
So, perhaps I don't quite understand the joke behind this one, but it gives me an alarming sense of how I am supposed to be caring for myself.

The problem I had adapating myself to new toilet environment here in Australia where water isnt used at all! Man, I mean, back home all the bathrooms are provided with tap water and its very convenient, but still the muslims there dont care much about cleanliness. Another great video! It does seem to be a trick when you work in a non-muslim place and try to keep clean, or especially, making your wudu! Especially as a lady, and other ladies talk....so when you have your foot in the sink...it's a new topic around the watercooler! Alhamdulilah, I live in a muslim country now, where this is not an issue of having the water since we have the lovely sprayers and whatnot. Now, it's just a matter of others not using properly or children playing in the restrooms. (yes, I said children playing in the restrooms...happens all the time in masjids back home in the States and a bit here...not sure why it's a sudden cool place to play?!?) I'm sure that there are issues in the men's restrooms, but I hope that this corrects some of the issues in the ladies too, insha'Allah. I know that it we don't keep our own homes this way, so why do we do this in the masjids??? Typically, you walk into a sister's house and the first clue to cleanliness is the kitchen and the restroom. Sisters know what -I'm- saying! :-) Jazak'Allahu khairun dear brother and keep up the good work!
mash'allah. I guess this is why I am glad that I don't have to share my bathroom at work with everyone else (only female in the building). I have never even used the bathroom at the masjid as not to break wudu, but that is just me.

nyc video mashallah.I dunno if youve come across the wudhu mate, its a portable container thing that you use to clean yourself and especially made. Its really cool as it holds quiet a bito water, and it folds up and you can put it into a neat lil plastic packet which comes with it!I bought mine for £3.50. check it out on www.wudumate.co.uk/ it saves carrying a water bottle round.

It is sad to see that now Ali has descended into "Islamic" potty humor. Dawah is now just a background effect; since when did "pee pee and poop" become the burning issue of our Ummah?
Muslims and non-Muslims need to understand how Islam is a solution for humanity's problems. Islamic potty humor is more about tongue-in-cheek humor than dawah. Dawah is never about being popular with anyone.

I understand you only post positive comments but I gotta say this... The beginning of this video was a bit gross. Akin to "potty-humor". Before I post on DawahWorks i seek advice from several bros in order to get a different view than my own. I feel you should have done the same. Also you make have given the kuffar another weapon to attack us with, saying that our Masajid are filthy... Think about it!

Someone said that as a convert no one ever explained bathroom etiquette to them. Well, I too am a convert and no one ever told me that either. It was a long time (like a year) before I knew you HAD to use water.

Me and my family don't have bottles, though. We have like a mini-shower beside the toilet. It is very nice, and works well! xD

to the bro from dawah works, it may have been 'potty humor' but it's talking about what us humans do each day!
I think Baba Ali is making these videos to cover issues that muslims dont talk about, and cover them from a funny angle.
The main thing he tries to do is make the videos according to Halal ways, so credit to him.
Also by saying our toielets are filthy, it's just stating the truth, it's not talking about Islam, but talking about the way Muslims are practicing it.
It ends with the message of cleanliness in Islam which balances the video, and shows what Islam says on the issue.

I love your reminders and I think this is great.. in my country, water is available everywhenre even in the toilet and we can wash very properly.. once a lady went in and I heared nothin!!! it sounds very quiet and then I saw her went out without washing her hands!!! YAK!!!

I'm a non muslim and I found this one curious. I have those Baby wipes on the back of my toilet and encourage my family to use them. I also preach very much about washing hands properly. I have several muslim friends and my dear friend Khadija convinced me to try a week of doing wudu. I have to say, after doing that for a week. I always make sure I wash well. (The water bottle though....try portable baby wipes? Maybe?) Of course, I'm not familiar with the Sunnah of it. Peace all.

Another great video...and I can relate to it because I am currently studying in Australia where toilets dun have water except to wash ur hands. And I am always hiding my bottle because I don;t want ppl to think I'm strange.Haha.
And always, I miss home the most when I go into the toilets. Luckily, I live on campus with all muslim students, so we have one of those jugs in the toilet. Still, it is not as convenient as having a mini-shower right next to the toilet seat. But yeah, i learn to adapt.

I can link myself to this spectacular video as I live in a dorm in the US with a bath shared by two other girls (non-Muslims). It is very surprising the tissue rolls keep disapperaing in a matter of days. I also have a flowering pot and many think it strange. But however uses the bathroom excluding me are EXTREMELY dirty and your right Muslims in general love to be clean (I DO!!).

i think this time the message is not well delivered..i got what u mean, but then, i guess u could have emphasize more on the cleanliness of the toilet due to water bottle that has been used..i've seen some toilets that get wet and dirty due to the use of the water..i guess we need to emphasize more on being careful not to spill out water on the floor..

Great video, once again. I had to laugh much(plus very educating too) and didn't quite understand the 'bachelor bottle' part. I think you mean the bottle is small so it's from someone who lives by himself? But what about a married person who goes to his work, doesn't he use a water bottle too? So actually that doesn't only count for bachelors right?
The video was great once again, but like someone else seemed to notice, there seems to be missing some energy. Well.. they attack us cuz we give them a chance. But what we know is that Islam is Perfect. Islam is perfect, Muslims are humans and are not.
Someone also said that dawa should be free of the words used. Well, i personally didnt think it was too vulgour, but it did its job. Conveyed the message to many and gave them the courage to proudly practice what is best, rather than being shy of practising wat is best!

its really ironic that for a country where the majority are muslims, the toilets and streets are one of the dirtiest places you can find.

For whoever called this potty humor, I think the point flew over their head. Either that or they just too squeemish. The Prophet (salla Allahu 'alaihi wa sallam) spoke about sexual matters and the like Islamically in frank terms.
Would he object to that as well?
This has been very enlightening for a Saudi such as myself who has never seen those bottles as we have little hoses next to the toilets and sometimes dibets to clean ourselves with.
Though there are no such things in the Americanized Dhahran, where I would wet tissues, run back to the stall, go back out, wet more tissues, run back in... repeat process.

i saw this video yesterday n today i went to a resturant own by muslims and Wallahi i got so happy because its not often that u see clean toilets even at resturants but this one was really nice and u got the clean feeling! Alhamdulilah! =)
this video really makes u think about how important it is to be clean, because unfortunetly not alot of muslims think about this alot. just take the masjid as an example, its suppose to be cleaner than ur home but its often durty.

I really can’t buy this person at all. He’s an Iranian who’s not suffered the atrocity those Iranian young boys and girls have suffered and are suffering, having lived his life in America!
That is why he can praise Islam because he has no idea how it feels living under Islamic subjugation as a young person!
If he had had lived his life in Iran, I swear to God or Allah if you prefer as someone who’s been brain-washed by Arabic Culture and not by Real Islam because Arabs are a racist and arrogant nation and their arrogance has been blamed by God even in Koran. That’s why they insist to impose their language and culture to the whole world in the name of Islam whereas according to the real Islamic ideology, Islam is a global religion therefore, you don’t have to become an Arab in order to become a Muslim. You can keep your cultural appearance, name etc. and still be a Muslim but NO… They insist you have to grow a beard right after conversion, choose an “Arabic” name NOT “Islamic Name” because there is no such thing as Islamic Name being Islam a global religion and learn Arabic because you wouldn’t be a Muslim if you don’t pray to God or the Arabic God, Allah, if you don’t speak to him in Arabic! Apparently, God is an Arab and would not understand any language other than Arabic!
This person on the other hand has suffered some frustration in America which is not very hard to see what his frustrations has been! How can I see that?! It’s easy! He’s playing cool, funny, open-minded, even trying to be somewhat sexy! Where has he learned all these things?! To his admission, he’s been hanging out with white Americans and has been drinking, clubbing, chasing girls etc. He obviously has not been received well to his liking and has been disappointed and that’s why he’s become a Islam Lover. He’s fighting back! I think this guy’s so called activities are based on sheer selfish motive; therefore I cannot buy it or hoopla for it!
