Allah says in the Qur’an Chapter 49 Al Hujarat verse 12 “O who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other nor speak ill behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No,you would abhor it. But fear Allah. For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.”
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) asked his companions, “Do you know what’s backbiting?” The Companions replied, “It is to say your absent brother that which he dislikes” Then someone asked, “But what if what I am saying about my brother is true?” The Prophet Answered. “If what you say about him is true, you have backbitten him and if what you say about him is not true, then you have slandered him”.

Selam aleykum brother. Good topic! It is sad to see so many Muslims doing this these days. Your advice sounds pretty good. I believe there are some hadiths on this subject. You know about talking bad about someone else when they are not there. Or maybe it is in the Quran. I cant quite remember. I know I have read it in one of the two sources. Looking forward to next weeks topic!

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger, صلى الله عليه و سلم ,as saying: Do you know what is backbiting? They (the Companions) said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like. It was said to him: What is your opinion about this that if I actually find (that failing) in my brother which I made a mention of? He said: If (that failing) is actually found (in him) what you assert, you in fact backbited him, and if that is not in him it is a slander. [Muslim]

This back bitting, every one has to deal with back bitting, here we also suffer from it, i dont like it but what ever we tried, nothing helps, Ghair inscha'Allah..

this happened to me too.i have this friend.she keeps lying to uor faces even when we know tht she is.i tried to confront her but she always denied.so i guess ill take your advice and give it a shot.
Ma sha Allah brother, this video was a great reminder for all muslims. I think sometimes people do this without even realizing, but your reminder makes us all look at ourselves and think how we can be better.
