Video Blog #6 - Distractions During Salat

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

Sometimes concentrating on the Salat (prayer) isn't easy. You assume that Shaitan is going to distract you but it becomes even harder to focus when the person praying next to you is distracting you.

Salamun ALikum

Looks like your running out of material as half of the video was explaining issues that you’ve already posted in the “Comedy Video Blogs” earlier and other places in comments…it seems repetitive…so when it came to getting into the meet of distraction of prayer seems that you ran out of time or materials…
( I know your doing the best you can to fulfill the demand for more video blog…but keep one important thing in mind QUALITY…)

I suggest plane things a little bit more organize…like the distractions, the etiquette of prayer, preparing for prayer and things to do or not to do can be done in a very informative and practical way…

Take your time in making Quality shorts…and you’ll see they go a log way and have a better effect and impact…(like you said you don’t want people just come and get a few laughs and that’s it…rather take something home that they can implement in their lives. Bottom line you don’t want people going to the Masajids/ gatherings and when they see a brother or sister doing something they saw on the video laugh and say ohhh…he/she is one of those people. I hope you get my drift…I’ll try to post a follow up to let you know what I mean…

Asalamalkum,

First off let's keep it clean, whoever cursed brother Abdullah for his comment needs to learn some adhab. Inshallah we can make a video blog about adhab for those of us who need a lesson or two on that one.

I myself like all the videos, mashallah he's doing a woderfull thing, I support it 100%.

I have to think on what the next will be about inshallah.

Again a job well done Ali *thumbs up* I have to agree with Abdullah's last paragraph though...he hit the nail on the head there, i'm sure the last thing u'd want is someone feeling uncomfortable while praying in a congregation because ppl are laughing at him/her...it may sound a little extreme right now, but it could happen.

Hey your only doing 10 blogs!?? oh man!!! i was just getting into it and telling everyone about it and now it'll be finishing...so soon!? well i can understand how u'll have other things to attend to...be sure to come back quick though :D

From the top of my head i'd say doing a videoblog on how many Hijabi's look down upon non-Hijabi's (especially at University) and how bearded bro's turn their noses's up at non-bearded bro's would be funny AND insightful to all those overtly "more religious" brothers and sisters out there who make people like me feel very uncomfortable at Islamic conferences/events, and think that they are in some way better Muslims than us, simply because they cover their hair or support a beard. Dunno if u've got my drift but thats my idea (for the time being)

Salam.

Well, seems like your a salafi brother, but I think you should be tolerate towards the Hanafi opinion of not having feet to feet during salaat. It shouldn't be "my way or the highway". It's just a personal advice to you and others who are adament salafis and don't understand the proofs for the other opinions. You shouldn't force brothers to have their feet touch yours, insha Allah your salaat will still be valid. :)

LOL thanx bro for entertaining us once again with a funny VB. I can relate to standing next to "loud whisper's" during Salat, it IS annoying!! and kids running around like loose cannons! u got it spot on dude.

Mashallah good work bro that was bare funny, u give me jokes man!

I kinda get what bro Abdullah is saying...he got a point there.

I like sis Fatima's VB idea too...the uni where i'm at, the behaviour of the more practicing brother's towards the seemingly less practicing brothers has been the cause of many arguements which led to some bro's walking outta the Islamic society.

U could do something on reverts too.

JazkAllah kair for all the feedback on all the videos thus far.

(reply to the first comment by Br. Abudullah)

walaikum salam,

The reason I was explained some of the things in the video that I had already addressed on the previous blog was because the video is posted in many places and a lot of people don't ever come to the Ummah Films website.

Even after the post, I still was getting email messages so I assumed that many people never read the post so I figured the best way to get the message accross was via the video blog.

Like everyone else, my week is occupied with do other things so to come up with a weekly show on a consistant basis isn't easy, especially since I have so many other things going on. Keep in mind that I have to come up the content, film it, edit it, and do all the other little things all by myself. There isn't even a camera man and my camera doesn't have a viewfinder so I have no idea that I'm even in frame (Actually I once did a whole episode and it was never published because when I finished filming, I realized I was out of frame for almost all the footage).

The video was 8 minutes log and only a portion of it was addressing the comments that I receive but I still left more than 1/2 of it for this week's topic. Nevertheless, Salat is something that is very important and many people take it lightly. Although I think people may smile in parts of the video, I think the videos do have reminders as well.

I am guilty of some of things that I address and these videos are reminders for myself before they are reminders for anyone else. If you are interesting in putting content together for a show, please follow the link in the post. It's not as easy and you make it seem. I'm quickly learning why there are no Muslim Video Bloggers out there. To come up with content is hard and to do it consistantly, is very difficult. I invite anyone out there to try to make even a 5 minute clip. You will be amazed on how long it will take to put together. To give the audience an idea, I'm offering to let you, the viewers, to put together an episode (read the post from 7/6/06 InshAllah). No one is yet to post (and I don't blame them) but it would be interesting to see what content a group can come up with InshAllah.

My blog is just my opinion and just like any other blog, visitors to the site can carry different opinions. Alhamdulillah. I'm not saying I'm correct either but I speak to the best of my knowledge InshAllah. I can be wrong and if I am, please correct me. Don't worry, I don't have an ego and I don't take things personal.

jazakAllah kair,

your brother in Islam,

Ali

Salamun ALikum

Alhamdulillah…I am sure it is hard work and no one is denying that…and those who do this type of work know how much work it takes…but at the same time you have to work with what you have if you know there are all this work and it’s only 1 person show then you have to organize it in a way so it would not be a burden (this is what I mean by organization) may be instead of 1 week make it every 2 weeks to give yourself more time…(this is just an example…meaning manage it accordingly)

As far as the other comments…I think the videos are Ok over all but as it was mentioned before be aware of what and how your audience will perceive the message. You can give a message in a positive way without getting border line of making fun of people or putting some people in that situation… I am sure all of us at one point or other were ignorant and made a lot of mistakes…The hadith of the Prophet (saaw) says my Ummah will have khair until the sa’a (the pointed time of day of judgment) so a lot of things that we see is a by product of ignorant of the deen. One way to turn off a person specially from the deen is to put them in a defensive, spot light, negative position. And like I said who can claim that they were guided from the beginning? No one…some one had to take the time and educate us and until we changed we also acted ignorantly.

So what I am getting at is these observations are nice but it would be even better if it was presented in a way that does not necessarily points out specific people
(just an example I was at a wedding and it happen that some one saw your video on the wedding and was bringing a lot of attention to themselves describing the wedding. There is a way to help people change…making fun of them ohhh look at this weding just like the video hahaha is not productive nor does it change people…

Example:

Showing a video on a guy gets up in the morning and it’s Jumah but instead of putting the same smelly cloth and socks on he/she puts on clean cloth as a matter of fact the best presentable cloth as he knows he is going to jumah and does not want to distract people…( I mean this is in general…) followed by the hadith about the emphasis of looking presentable (coming hair…putting good cloth and smelling good)

Another one instead of talking about psycho sisters…keep in general talk about the etiquettes of getting married both for men and women…

And finally the last advice at it was said think Quality
Entertainment should NOT come at the cost of Quality (accordance to the Deen regardless of how, so called “boring” , some may think.)

You know WHAT I MEAN! ;)

jazakhallah

MashAllah, a great video.

First up, I really liked the fact that you started with announcements because it is true, the videos are everywhere, this will really put people in the know.

I really like the 'contest' type idea-- this will really give people a chance to showcase their talent and throw out potential topics.

Things that make your videos unique:
1) your signature "this is Ali reminding you just in case you forgot"- very cool :)
2) your intention to put the deen first and not entertainment
3) you are not mocking the religion, which is what a lot of Muslims are doing if you just type "MSA" on google videos (you'll find a lot of em)..and its just like...man...the image is already tarnished, why are you tarnishing it even more.
InshAllah your intention to put quality and Islam first, is the reason the videos are drawing so much attention.

InshAllah I am going to put my list of potential topics in the comments section of the previous entry.

(in response to the br. Anonymous)

None of the videos are directed at anyone specific. I'm not a scholar and this isn't a blog that teaches Islam. This is just a personal video blog (similar to regular text blogs but with instead of having my thoughts in writing..its in video format)

If someone wants to learn Islam, they can't learn it in 5 minutes and especially from a video blog on You Tube. They should go to the Qu'ran and Sunnah InshAllah. These videos are not meant to mock any person in specific but rather to make everyone INCLUDING myself aware of our actions that we do without thinking.

We have mixed so much culture with Islam that many people have a hard time drawing the line of what is Islam and what is Culture. Muslims do so many things today without thinking and many of those issues are never addressed so I try to address them. Brothers who close their liquor store so they can goto Jummah...or sending their girlfriends to go and pickup halal meat for them.....and the list goes on...

Yeah, I may cover those type of actions and I hope maybe the people who do them will maybe at least think about what they are doing before they just do it unconsciously. If they feel embarrassed, they should and if I’m do something wrong, I would like to be reminded as well because on the Day of Judgment, I don't want to be in a situation where I’m regreting doing this and that and wishing that someone told me about the things I did.

Never in my video blogs do I laugh AT the people for doing the things they do nor do I suggest that anyone else does so. Just for the record, I am not better than anyone else and I have many errors that I need to correct in myself. But if I watched a video where the character is doing something that I do and then I'm reminded that this is not from Islam, then I would be grateful because maybe I can correct than action. If I left Islam because I saw a video making fun of person who closes his liquor store to goto Jummah, then that person’s Iman maybe already weak…and leaving Islam because of watching a video blog is a lame excuse. As I said, many people may be following the practices of Islam out of culture not because they fear Allah (swt). Going to Jummah and see how few people are there compared to the large number of Muslims in the area...then look at the Eid Prayer (which is sunnah not fard like the Jummah salat) and see all the faces you NEVER see other than at Eid). That is Culture...NOT Islam. You miss the Fard but enforce the Sunnah? Naaaa….I don’t buy it.

My video blog is just my 2 cents on different topics. Some of the things addressed, I have done myself so I’m correcting myself before I’m correcting anyone. For example, after making the videos, I am much more aware of those “little things” that I often discuss, so Alhamdulillah I'm doing many of those things LESS. For example, when I use to have my phone with me at Jummah, I use to put in vibrate. Now, I just leave the phone in my car (so I won't after to worry about if its on vibrate or not). Am I worried about the brother's feelings that gets hurt because he talks on his cell phone at Jummah....no. What if he leaves Islam because I brought up the topic that your cell phone ringing at Jummah during the salat distracts others….give me a break. SubhanAllah, are people that weak in their Deen? Then you can’t say anything to them, otherwise they will go away from Islam.

This isn't a forum of bringing people to Islam but rather a forum to remind those who already know what's up. You are constantly making remarks about "quality" and it doesn't seem that you understand what this whole thing is. Its just a blog. That's it. I’m sorry if it is not meeting your expectations but if you are looking for a high quality production project, you shouldn’t be looking on you tube. The whole thing was a just an experiment to do to practice editing but since people wanted "more" of them, I decided to try to do 10 episodes. After the first 2 episodes, I quickly learned that I can’t just improv the whole thing and that is why I started planning what I say more. This way, I can try to make things more clear and prevent any misunderstanding (like the “physco” reference you mentioned”). Ever since I have been planning them, they have gotten generally better Alhamdulillah. As in regards of the marriage one, I know many people who were put in debt because of being forced to spend so much on their wedding and with so m any comments and emails coming to me about it, I think people share the same opinion. Many people tell me that they show it to their parents…maybe its an icebreaker to bring up the topic of why the family should spend extravagant about of money. A topic to discuss if they are doing it really for Allah (swt) or they are doing it for show off.

The show I made is really simple...all you need a chair and a camera so brother please try to put a show.

SubhanAllah, I'm sure all of us grow up with people that can be labeled as "talkers" but these same critics can't put in action the very thing they expect others to do. This Ummah has enough of those type of brother, I hope you are not one of them.

Look, if I have thousands of views per week, then that says the Ummah is hungry for video blogs so the audience is definately there. Now, if you are willing to put action behind your words, and you have a camera, then you have no excuse. Unless, you are just another brother who just likes to be a "critic". If so, then that's a whole other topic.

1) You can't please everyone.
2) Don't get disheartened.
3) You are all doing excellent work.
4) Many people who criticize do so out of envy.
5) You guys are hilarious.

Besides, no one else is doing it...All these people who have all these not so constructive criticisms...where are your blogs? Where is your video? If you're so good, why don't you go do it?

omg...funniest one yet... i used to be a loud speaker... but alhamdulilah my sister got me to stop...

some ideas... the whole thing about guys only looking at a sister once... like but there are those guys who basically 'perve' or stare at women and 'check them out' ...basically...what 'muslim' guys talk about i mean those brothers that are meant to be respectful to women but totally objectify them...the example i used was one way that they do that.. OMG... i just thought of the best idea...do a video blog on undercover hoes/male hoes.. basically, they act like the perfect muslim on the outside ...but when friday night comes or when they aren't around muslims...they go totally wild... doing stripping at night..trust me this has happened... and the girls end up ripping off their hijabs/jilbaabs and long skirts..and have a change of clothing underneath, which they change into...and friday night they all go out clubbing..istakhfurunallah... but it does happen in muslim communities...

LOL! I especially loved the child one and the loud whisperer. I've had children stop and lay down in front of me before I have to make sujud. We used to jump on our father's back when he was in sujud.

You forgot a combination of the bad breath and too much attar: bad body odor. I'm sorry, I hate to say it, but it's true. Muslims need to have good hygeine (this includes wearing deoderant...because all that attar will not mask the sweaty-smell, just mix with it, which is even worse). It's a HUGE distraction.

And also other people's (musical) ringtones going off.

i couldnt believe it. my dad never laughs at these type of videos but instead frowns upon them and when my bro. showed it to him he was laughing...alot. it was weird. the head to butt collision is so true! an idea for another video might be the treatment of muslims at stores especially hijabis. example: my sister was at the library and the librarian who was helping her out was talking real slow and in short sentences to help her understand and she was explaining that shelves A-F are to her right (using her entire body and hands to make it clear) and she did the same for her left side. then after she was finished explaining she turned to my sister and loudly asked "now where is shelf C?" and my sister who gets annoyed very easily pointed to her right. it was really funny if you were there. but yea hijabis in my experience get alot of this.

Just to funny once again! Now why people move there feet away is simple, some mathab and some shiekh, say not to stand feet touching. My own sheikh told me "When you stand before a king would you stand with your legs spread? Of course not! Islam says shoulder to shoulder in straight lines. It does not mention feet" Of course different mathab and different shiekhs will all have a difference of opinion, but I am one of those foot people :D Though I dont keep moving it away only the first time. Ha ha ha! Well I am only posting so at least you know why I keep my toes to myself, not for religious debate! Keep up the good work, maybe next time in a video like this you should mention the smell of rotten diapers that sisters refused to change before salat because they didnt want to make thier wudu again! Try that for distracting!

Everyone is quick to pint things out, like the brother said... the talkers and complainers on one side, the go getters on the other side. Like the brother said, this is just somethign to help him leard editing not.... go REALITY TV SHOW with it. There is an audience for it as you all can see, but the brother has a life too. may allah reward you, and give u success in this life and the hereafter. ameen

Great job bro, my whole family watches it. May Allah reward you for your efforts to get the message across using such creative and intelligent means. You really do have a gift brother, and Mashllah you are using it for the sake of ALLAH. and there is no reward or check grater than that.

is it just me that gets annoyed when sisters start to cry during the duaa? I mean, yeh, feel upset, feel touched or whatever but it is REALLY DISTRACTING. a lot of them cry so loudly that they're sort of wailing and in the end they drown out the voice of the imam in the mic so that no one can actually hear anything but their crying. also u shud remind people that they turn up in clean clothes ANYWAY. whether theyr in a mosque or not. i've prayed next to someone who had probly been wearing the same clothes for about a year and they were sooo dirty and stinky and stuff. but great blog anyway.

I think the special effects in all three Matrix movies are far better than the effects you see in this last video. Yes, you are writing, filming, editing, this all by yourself but still....wouldn't you rather come out with weekly videos that can be compared to let's say the new Superman movie.

Something to think about...

Actually this blog is better then superman and matrix, you will not learn anything about islam in those 2 movies but you will in this 5 minute video blog. Those are the special Fx. HAHAHA lol. this Comment sections is too funny.

My dear respected brother...please don't take this the wrong way but Superman is bringing in millions of dollars. MILLIONS!!! He is able to fly so well..almost to outter space. Have you even seen the movie? I saw the Muslim while Flying video and the brother doesn't even fly??!!!! I really like the content but if we can some martial arts to it....

If the brother tries to fly or at least learns special fx moves like neo, it would attract a special fx audience. Now he can fly like Neo or Superman...and of course it doens't have to be real...but it has to look real. Please do not become emotional but instead kindly listen to my words....imagine if he did a karate kick after each one of his videos and then with a some sort of special effect (not sure what type), he could fly....nothing fancy...just a simple flight from one part of the screen to the other...imagine the possibilities brother. don't close your eyes and blindly follow those who have posted before you...open your heart and think special...

you are so off topic that I think you have been watching too many movies. Yes I say superman, but I doubt a video blog needs thta much time spent trying to prefect something that is totally irrelevant to getting a Message of Islam across to the viewers.
So just watch the videos brother inshallah and open your heart and think special, because you are a very special brother .... lol

I say once you walk in this guys shoes, then you can push out your 2 cents on QUALITY or what you are doing right and wrong....

these comments are just toooooooo funny!..."you should do this and you should do that"..."why are you doing this subject"...."I think this can be done better"...blalblablabla....I don't see anyone else stepping up to the plate and doing anything here.

Bro, handle you business and do your thang. The site seems to just get better so whatever you are doing...just keep doing it. Too many cooks in the kitchen messes up the food so once you start listening to these people, you are going to mess your mojo up.

People keep making it sound easy but I don't see any of them doing it. They just dish out the ideas and want YOU to do it. That's hilarious bro!

Golden rule: If it ain't broke...don't fix it!

Hey, I noticed that you don't really respond to these comments on these posts...can't blame you since there are a bunch of weird ones here...you probably gave up huh?....haha....the comment section is pure comedy...how about doing a show on the comments!!

I don't think this is your best video it is still good considering that you doing this on your own. Hey, how are we suppose to get in touch with you if don't respond to the messages here???

This is to these who critique the critiques… I quote another very well comment made in one of the comment sections “if you put something on the net PUBLICLY for the whole world to see and you asked them to come and comment about it…you should expect to see people disagreeing…” critique… The point is not about saying if you can do better job so then put up something…These comments means you are not ready to hear what others have to say….obviously I did not claim it nor did I put up a website but brother ali did put up a website and asked people come to see and comment, so people commented… now those who say this is just a blog…journal diary…practice session…whatever it might be…they have not read the first thing when they enter the blog…the intro to the site that tells you what this site is all about…
This is the first thing you see when you come to the Ummah films site…right under the title “Ummah Films”
The short paragraph…I suggest you all read it…what is the first word in the sentence?...”Quality” I don’t know about you but when you start the sentence with a subject it means it is related/applyies to what you about to do…(here are some of the key things the subject, Quality, will apply to in that short paragraph: “plan to raise the bar on Muslim film making”…” be an example for other “…”move beyond the mediocracy rampant in Muslim movies and excel to higher levels.” better pay attention to what is being claimed….
…so I can see why those comments about Quality?...can you?...
This comment was not to take anything away form the effort of the brother but rather “A reminder for those who have forgotten” for us all to plan things out before taking an action and take the VALID critiques and build up on it to improve that’s all…

Ma-Salam

assalamu alaikum brothers,

I don't the video blog is part of the filmmaking for the site so your reference to the introduction to the site is invalid.

By what I have read so far, this video blog thing was done as a way for the brother to practice editing and according to the site, there actual first film from these guys has yet to be finished. So I think the QUALITY that is being referred to is to the FILMS not the video blogs.

What do you guys expect this guy to do? Sing and dance for you? Work day and night to bring the QUALITY to meet your satisfaction? It sounds like more complaining than anything.

If you people don't like it, why do you people even come to this site? Serioulsy, I don't get it?????

Assalammu' Alaikum Everyone,

I guess I should put my 2 cents in too since everyone else has.

JazakAllah khair for all the comments’ and feedback. Positive or negative, it is all good. Alhamdulillah I do not have an ego.

The reason that I mentioned in the last video that I'm not a comedian is because comedians base their content in order to make people laugh...and that's it. It doesn't matter if they lie or not. Although, I do want make the video entertaining, I do not want to lie for the sake of making people laugh.

Personally, I think I can make the video clips MUCH more funnier (is that even a word?) but to do so will require having less of a message/reminder in the blogs and I don't want to compromise that. I would rather people say "hey it's not as funny as your other video" and benefit from the message than to just laugh and get nothing out of it.

I have seen many video clips on YouTube by Muslims who mock ibadah actions in Islam in order to make people laugh. I refuse to do that. I will however bring up the unislamic things we do to bring attention to those actions. I think there is a fine line with making fun of it to make people laugh and to make fun of it to make a point. Sometimes, the issue has to be brought up so realize that it is effecting others. Yeah, some people maybe sensitive but I'm have never directed my message to person x or person y. Its always general and those who do it, know who they are.

We're now at 50,000 views on YouTube alone (that doesn't the views on UF or other sites) and the popularity of the show can be quite overwhelming. I get emails from all over (comedians, directors, actors, etc..). SubhanAllah..its just me in a chair...lol. Anyways, I appreciate everyone who has forwarded the videos and this website to their contacts. JazakAllah kair for your help in promoting the message. Please continue to do so.

I constantly try to remind myself that the success from the video blogs is from Allah (swt) and only the mistakes are from me. I have changed the intro text on top of the main page to reflect that. Shaitan tries to use money, fame, beauty, power, success, etc...to make you arrogant and to take you off the straight path. This is why we must always remind ourselves that is ONLY because Allah (swt) that anything happens.

I may continue the videos after 10 episodes but may not be released on such a consistent basis.

These content of the video blogs are based on my opinion. There are many issues I would like to cover but due to limitations, I can not cover them. For example, to cover some of the sister's issues, it would require a sister to demonstrate something and since men can't imitate women and women can't imitate men, some ideas can't really be done.

I'm sorry for not being active on this comment section. I would rather leave the comment section to the viewers. If you have any questions/comments, please feel to contact me at ali@ummahfilms.com

Finally, this video blog is something I do on my free time. This is not the purpose of Ummah Films and I started this as just an experimental thing..that's it. I understand that some videos are better than others and there will always be people that will think that this video isn't as good as this other video, and that's fine. My goal isn't to outdo myself in each episode but rather get the message across. As long as you remember the message and its done in halal way, I accomplish my goal.

JazakAllah khair

your brother in Islam,

Ali
p.s. If people think I'M funny...you should read some of these comments in the comment section!

Wasalam Ali bro finally u made a post! hopefull this should end the mini fued that was brimming amongst some of the viewers...i totally understand and agree with what you've said, at the end of the day the most important thing is that u send out the message in a halal way...if people want comedy there's plenty of it on youtube (just type in MSA and you'll know what i'm talking about) personally i like the way you've set limitations for yourself i.e not imitating women - keep doing what you're doing and i look forward to seeing the new blog tomorrow :)

Wasalam.

As-salaamu `alaikum,

For now, this blog is the official/main site for Ummah Films. Insha Allah we plan to expand it into a full website in the future.

Ummah Films for now consist of a few individuals including myself, Baba Ali, Hani, Arif, etc.

We decided to create Ummah Films for the following reasons:

1. We wanted to make quality films about Islam and Muslims in the English language.

2. We decided that one way of reaching to the people, especially the youth you do not usually read books or attend Islamic lectures is to use film as a way to do da`wah.

We will continue to use Islam as our standards when we make films and other things; nothing else will be accepted.

Plastic Surgery:

Although I know this is the comments section concerning the making of the video, and not a discussion forum about Islamic laws concerning plastic surgery..I feel that I must make a corrective InshaAllah.

The Qur'an tells us that one of the statements Shayataan made infront of Almighty Allah (SWT) is that he would approach His (SWT) people from before and behind them, from the right and left of them...

Shayataan said that one of the ways he would disturb is by making the people want to CHANGE THE NATURE of things...

This he does through trickery and from all angles (from before and behind, from the right and left).

The Nature of your form is the way Allah created you. Allah is THE CREATOR, THE FASHIONER and THE EVOLVER of all human bodies. (These are three of his Beautiful Names). Allah gave you your form,..did He (SWT) not "create Adam in the best of forms"?

And besides, your body doesn't belong to You, it is LENT to you by Allah, for you to use by His allowance, Mercy, and Generosity...for you to take care of until it is brought back to Him the Almighty, as He Created it...

Which means that no matter how much money you spend, and how much you change yourself in this temporary Dunya, truth is on the day of resurrection you'll rise as you were made!! Hehe..what a waste. (Yo, anyone warned Wacko Jacko he's gona rise up.. black??!!...Damn)

Remember Shayataan whispers, he doesn't shout.

Think about it

Your sista in Islam

The way our talented brother is being criticized for his work is a microcosm of our Ummah. Just remember, when you point a finger at someone else, three more are pointing right back at you. At least he is doing something, unlike the rest who are just waiting to put someone down.

Who cares if the quality isnt good? Instead of spending all that money on an HDTV, BMW, etc, help finance his production to meet the standards of quality you have.

I personally see these clips as the most entertaining yet still insightful media out there. Our brother gets his point across but at the same time is not lecturing us in an accusatorial tone (e.g., Sunday School Teachers).

This is a valuable tool for the younger generation and non-Muslims because it educates but at the same time does not obfuscate.

We all know the images that permeate media when it comes to Islam, so when we have a knowledgeable and friendly person why do we feel it is our duty to discourage him? I would love to show these clips to my non-Muslim friends to let them know that we can laugh at ourselves. The younger generation will oscillate more towards this kind of media because it is within their domain.

Please, brothers and sisters, don't take 'constructive criticism' to new levels and lose sight of what this brother is doing. He is taking time out of his busy life to shed some light on our beautiful religion and he is doing it in a unique and entertaining way.

If you don't like what he's doing, make your own, but DO NOT put him down.

"If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all."

Asalam3alaykum, i hope you are well.. i just want to say that you are an inspiration, i enjoy your enthusiasm about islam and its teachings.. and how you present them in a fun and non formal way but still deliver the message. some times the younger generation are eager and keen to learn more about islam and remove their ambiguities by listening to older Fkis and imams, but i dont always think that they have the capability to grasp their attention the way you have done, and i also think that you appeal to the older generations too.. in this post i am speaking about all your blogs... they are excellent Masha'ALLAH... keep up the good work and i shall look forward to series 2 incha'ALLAH... your sister in Islam...*Devine Mercy*

Salaam Alikum wrwb,

Its great! simple, short and to the point. MashAllah. brother Abdullah does have a point, a little can go a looooooooooooooooong way if you organise it a bit. But personally, with the time you currently have, it's good the way it is - your vids are 'reminders', not lectures, so having introduced the topic of 'distractions', I think people will catch on - it doesn't take a genius to figure out what distracts someone.

Brother Abdullah's also got another good point - dont' want people laughing at others who do these things that distract. But at the same time we should train ourselves to not be distracted by these things, because there'll always be people coughing during salaat, kids climbing on backs, and of course - the feet chaser guy.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK INSHALLAH!!
JazakAllah khaire

and i wanted to add a point about the little girl ,while i was watching i remembred the prophet peace be upon him,one time he was praying (he was in the soujoud )and his grand_son came and jump over him , so the prophet stayed in the soujoud until his grandson came down because he was afraid that he may be hurt or something...

this was an email forwaded to me and i think it would be a very good topic to talk about....

The Hell-Fire
-

style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">We are always planning for our
style="CLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">future in this world. But how often do we
think about what will happen to us
after death? Have we ever asked
ourselves: Are we going to be from
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">the
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">dwellers of hell? God forbid.. Or Are we
going to be from the dwellers of
Jannah inshallah..

style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">Hell-Fire: The hell-fire has already
been created. It is a place of
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">eternal punishment. The inmates of Hell would
be burnt daily for 70 thousand
times. Every time, after the
skin and flesh is burnt, they would be
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">restored
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">to life so that they can continuously taste this
punishment. The hell-fire
has a roof made out of fire. Its
floor is filled with flames, and its

style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">fuel
is men and stones. The hell-fire
has servants, and they are the angels
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">of

style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">punishment. They obey Allah (swt) in
everything they are told. These
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">angels
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">have no mercy, and all they do is punish the people
of hell.

style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">

Depth of
the Hell-fire: The hell-fire is very deep. One day the
Prophet
pbuh) was sitting with some of his companions, and
they heard a loud noise.
The prophet (pbuh) asked them "Do you
know what this is?" They said,
Allah
swt) and His messenger know best." The
Prophet (pbuh) said: "It was a stone
thrown in hell 70 years ago, and it
just reached the bottom." In
another
hadith explaining the size of hell, The prophet
(pbuh) said "If the sun

and the
moon were placed in hell, it would be like two bulls in earth."
Now can
you imagine how big hell is...? And
Allah (swt) vowed that He is going to
fill it completely.

Dwellers of
Hell: The people of hell are going to be so huge, and the
reason for that is so they can taste the punishment
more. The Prophet (pbuh)
said that one tooth of the people of
hell is the size of Mountain of Uhod.
Their tongues would be so long the
others would trample and step on
them.
And the distance from shoulder to shoulder will be
3 days. And it isnt
even 3 days from our time, it is 3
days from the time of Allah (swt) *
style="COLOR: rgb(191,0,95)">The

people of hell will wear clothes which will be
highly inflammable. And they
will be deaf, dumb, and blind.
They will not see the punishment, they
will not
be able to scream or say anything, and that is a kind of
punishment for
them. The dwellers of hell will be tied in
chains which would be greater in
length than the distance between the
sky and the earth. The angels
will drag
them by their faces and throw them in hell.
Hell will greet them with a loud
growl, just as a dog growls at his
enemy.

Levels of the
Hell-fire: There are 7 gates (levels) in Hell:
The first level is Jahanam: This level is for the
disbelievers. The second level is
Latha: This level is for the people who don't thank

Allah
(swt) when they are happy, and are not
patient when they have a problem.

The
third level is Hutama: This level is for the people who gather
wealth
without giving donations or charity.
The fourth level is Sa'aeer: This level is for the
arrogant people.

The fifith level is Saqar: This level is for the
people who don't pray, don't
feed the poor, backbite, and don't
believe in the hereafter. The sixth
level is Jaheem: This level is for the people who show-off,
and make
fun of the believers. The seventh
level is Haweya: This is the lowest level, and it is for
the
hypocrites.
Food and Drink in Hell: The food of hell is
of 2 kinds: Zaqum and Ghisleen.
Zaqum is a tree that looks like the
heads of Devils, it is filled with
thorns. This tree is so bitter, that even if
a single molecule of it were to
spill onto the earth it would make all
the food of the world bitter. The
people of hell dread eating it.
The angels beat them and force the
Zaqum
down their throats.
The second kind of food is Ghisleen. Ghisleen
is the blood, sweat, filth,
and burned parts of the people of
hell. For drinking, the people of hell
would be provided with hot, boiling
water
mixed with blood, pus, urine, tears, etc.. of the
dwellers of hell. If a
bucket of this foul liquid were to be
spilled onto this earth, the entire
world would be upset and disrupted by
its most foul stink.

The prophet
(pbuh) said: "Hell was lit for 1,000 years till it turned
red, then
it was lit for another 1,000 years till it became white, then
again it
was lit for another 1,000 years, and it's white
color flames turned pitch
black as it is now.

Hell isn't only a punishment of heat, but their is
another punishment where
after the people are punished for thousands
of years in the flames of hell,
it suddenly becomes extremely
cold. This extreme level of coldness is
called
Zamhareer. Scientifically speaking..when
somthing is in extreme heat, then
suddenly in cold, it breaks and tears
down. And that is what happens
to their
bodies. They tear and break down.

Why did Allah (swt) create Hell?

Allah (swt) created hell for the people who disobey
Him. Allah (swt) sent
His books, His messengers, and gave
the orders, and so whoever disobeys
them will
be thrown in HELL.

Allah (swt) gives us a reminder in this world to
remember Hell, and that is

the fire which
we have in this world. Allah (swt)
says: "Then tell Me about the fire which you kindle. Is it
you who
made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? We have made

it a
Reminder (of the hell-fire) and a
provision of use for the travellers
and all
the others in this world)" Allah (swt) says 'It is (first) a
reminder, then a provision! It is for
us to remember hell, and then after
that, it is a provision to use for
cooking, heat, or any other daily use.

The Prophet
(pbuh) said: "Your (ordinary) fire is one of 70 parts of
the
hell-fire." Someone asked "O Allah's messenger,
this fire would have been
sufficeint (to torture the disbelievers) "Allah's
messenger said "The hell-fire has 69
parts more then the worldly fire, and each part is as
hot as
this worldly fire" [Bukhari}

Hellfire is Eternal: After everyone
goes to their place in the hereafter,
Allah (swt) will bring death in a form
of a sheep. He will ask the
people of Jannah, "Do you know what this is?" They will
gasp and say, "Yes, this is
death" Then it will be said to
the people of hell, "Do you know what
this is?"
They will gasp and say, "Yes, this is death" Then the sheep will

die.
or Death will die. Meaning there
will be no more death. So it will be
said to
the people of Jannah "Eternity for you and no death" and it will be
said
to the people of hell "Eternity for you, and no
death" So the people of
Jannah will get relieved, and the
people of hell will give up...

Punishments in Hell: There are going to be
many kinds of punishments in
Hell. One of them will be
regret. It isnt any kind of regret, it is
an
intense, painful regret. They will regret the
times they disobeyed Allah
(swt), and the times they ignored the
people who enjoined them with the
good. They will hate the people who
encourage them do the wrong, and

they will
curse them, and beg Allah (swt) to double their punishment. It
will be
a horrible scene. Beside the physical
torture, the people of hell would also
be mentally harassed through the
taunting from the gaurdian of hell.
He will
remind them of their misdeed on earth, and tell
them "Now taste the fire!"
The dwellers of hell would weep so
much and shed so much tears and blood
that deep wrinkles would be formed on
their cheeks. Some dwellers of Hell
would be
made to climb a mountain of fire, and then dropped from its peak and
this
process would continue forever and
ever. The people of hell would be
lashed

with heavy clubs
of iron. If one such club were to be placed upon this
earth, the combined strength of all the human
beings, as well as all the
jinns, would fail to lift it.
And if a mountain is struck with one of
these
clubs it would cause the whole mountain to
crumble. One of the
biggest
punishments in hell, is that the people of hell
will never be able to

talk to
or see Allah (swt). We know that the best
reward in Jannah, is when they get

to
see Allah (swt), and so it will be the worst punishment in hell,
that
they will be denied this great
honor. Inshallah I pray that Allah
swt)
makes us of the people who will view His
Face, and May He protect us from
the hell-fire, and any deeds that lead
to the hell-fire. And May He
make us
from the people of Jannah, and the deeds that lead
to Jannah. May

Allah
swt) protect and guide us all... Ameen Ya
Rab Al 'Alameeen....

Keep going bro. You're doing great work. Bro, I got some suggestions for topics. I been watching your videos and instead of being a critic which I can do lol, I thought, "hey man, the dude is doing it, so what you gonna do, hmmmm?"

So, I written paragraphs, very short on each idea Ali. Sometimes something happens on a day, so I make sure I got a note pad, and write it down.

So, Ali, where do I send this please? I can send it as word document and you can stash em somewhere until you got time or need material bro.

Please leave message Insha-Allah for everyone to know where to send in your Feedblitz newsletter.

Great work Ali. Keep going. You can't please everyone. Just keep going. Your bank in Jannah will InshaAllah be plenty, with Allah SWT blessing.

Wassalaam

I have watched half of your videos (I still have a lot to watch fortunately!!)and I think it's a great idea for muslims and not muslims, to explain them what Islam really is in a funny/serious way.

Keep on going with this, may Allah help you.
The Ummah is supporting you, brother Ali, you're the best

assalamu alaykum

great great great vids, luv 'em all to bits.

suggestions ummmm... what about the muslim brothers who wanna live like the non-muslims, i.e. partying, drinking, fornicating, etc. while knowing their parents will find them 'good' muslim girls for marriage. having the idea that u can 'have fun while young' but the girl has to be very holy or else they look down on her...

as a single muslim female i come across this alot

I really enjoy your videos and i think that you are doing a good job to remind us all about the things we do and the impacts it couses to other people. I'm trying to get more people in Finland to be more aware of these videos.

There are not much video blogs in Finland, but i hope your videos inspire more muslims to lead others.

Keep up doing the great

Al-Salamu Aleakom

jazak allahu khairan

but I think the fun part and the joke part is dominating and too much concentrated
I suggest diluting it a little bit

Moreover, I know that you are not hopefully pride and you are not one of the Arrogant People you have taken about them recently but please people may misunderstood that from that the first three minutes of the video

I AM TELLING YOU THIS TRUTH BECAUSE AS YOU SAID FRIENDS ADVISE AND CORRECT EACH OTHER
Thank you

Hi Baba Ali. I really like the way you enlighten people out there and you have a very special gift for explaining things in a funny and engaging way for young/ADD audiences. I have a request for a show.

Please watch these links for referece:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lthoHbTo3Ck
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yXc67Fuqm8

Recently, an incident on a Southwest airlines happened as a Hooter's girl was asked to be removed from the flight because she was dressed "too sexy." Then she compromised by wearing a blanket over her outfit for the entire flight. After this, she went all over the media saying how she would sue and that there is no dress code on Southwest, and that people should not be singled out on airlines for being beautiful and displaying it. And the entire media agrees with her and even gives her fake motivation to be a "model" down the road. On the other hand, you have women who are being MODEST and dressed according to Islamic custom, who are being singled out in airports and flights (along with the muslim men and CHILDREN), so where are the lawsuits there? Who supports those lawsuits? Do the muslims or Southeast Asians go on the Today Show and get tv segments all over the media? In fact, FOX News (of course) supports the fact that brown skin is targeted. Please address this in your films.
Thank you!
-Bhavna

Assalamu aleykum, i enjoy your clips very much. I can't help but make one comment: In "distractions during salat" i felt bad that a child is seen as distraction (by the way, yes she is very cute). As we all know, the grandchildren of our beloved Prophet saws Hd. Hasan and Hd. Hosein used to play around him and climb on his back during salat. In fact, he used to extend his sajda when they were on his back. It was this kind of love and compassion that our beloved Prophet saws always demonstrated, especially towards children. In this world where loving one another is becoming an endangered specie, i can only hope that we don't see our kids as distraction, but instead a reminder of the greatness of Allah, "just in case we forgot". With love and peace. Looking forward to your next videos. a sister

I really can’t buy this person at all. He’s an Iranian who’s not suffered the atrocity those Iranian young boys and girls have suffered and are suffering, having lived his life in America!
That is why he can praise Islam because he has no idea how it feels living under Islamic subjugation as a young person!
If he had had lived his life in Iran, I swear to God or Allah if you prefer as someone who’s been brain-washed by Arabic Culture and not by Real Islam because Arabs are a racist and arrogant nation and their arrogance has been blamed by God even in Koran. That’s why they insist to impose their language and culture to the whole world in the name of Islam whereas according to the real Islamic ideology, Islam is a global religion therefore, you don’t have to become an Arab in order to become a Muslim. You can keep your cultural appearance, name etc. and still be a Muslim but NO… They insist you have to grow a beard right after conversion, choose an “Arabic” name NOT “Islamic Name” because there is no such thing as Islamic Name being Islam a global religion and learn Arabic because you wouldn’t be a Muslim if you don’t pray to God or the Arabic God, Allah, if you don’t speak to him in Arabic! Apparently, God is an Arab and would not understand any language other than Arabic!
This person on the other hand has suffered some frustration in America which is not very hard to see what his frustrations has been! How can I see that?! It’s easy! He’s playing cool, funny, open-minded, even trying to be somewhat sexy! Where has he learned all these things?! To his admission, he’s been hanging out with white Americans and has been drinking, clubbing, chasing girls etc. He obviously has not been received well to his liking and has been disappointed and that’s why he’s become a Islam Lover. He’s fighting back! I think this guy’s so called activities are based on sheer selfish motive; therefore I cannot buy it or hoopla for it!
