The Reminder DVD Cover Design - Please vote
Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,
Alhamdulillah we are getting closer to the completing this DVD. I just filmed the Season Finale yesterday. I hope to edit it tonight and have it ready by tomorrow.Anyways, with the deadline quickly approaching, we need to figure out which DVD cover to go with InshAllah. Keep in mind that the pics have been compressed for the web but the actual cover with be in high resolution. So far, I've been getting different answers on what to go with and honestly, I'm confused. So I figured I should post the different covers here and see what the viewers think InshAllah. Yeah, this whole "let the viewers vote on the design cover" may not be the norm but then again, Ummah Films isn't the norm :)

My suggest quote line for the cover:
"From the Most Viewed Muslim Video Online!"
I think its better than claiming to be #1 because it begs the question: #1 in what?
I voted for #2, and my comments on each:
#1 shows Ali holding a micraphone, and I have never seen him with a mike on any of the videos so it makes me wonder if this DVD contains event appearances. I do like the Price Tag that reads on it "The Reminder: Seasons 1 & 2" and I think it would look better on choice #2 which is missing any info that this DVD contains seasons 1&2.
# 3 Has Ali in shades, which is not a popular pic from the vids. and the green background with designs makes it look like a hippi's bedroom.

The design was not put together by me but rather the design firm. Nevertheless, JazakAllah Khair for your text edit suggestion
I hope to have at least 1hr (if not more) of extra footage (2 unreleased videos, a Q&A video answering questions, entire interview on Saturday Night Live (UK show on Islam Channel) and another interview done after the "Evening with Ali" show in London. All the above will be in addition to the 18 Reminder videos (which will be in DVD quality) InshAllah so the DVD is packed with lots of stuff InshAllah. I added all the extra clips because I wanted to give something extra to all those who are supporting and fund the Reminder videos by purchasing the DVD set.

Salams, I much prefer #2 as it looks a whole lot classier! I prefer the way it doesn't highlight "on the internet"... and generally makes you want to look further... Inshallah whatever you decide wil lhave a positive impact. WS

I like option # 1, because its attention grabber. But then I started to think about what cptratib said. I think one of the videos Ali had the mic on.
It seems most of the viewers voting for option # 2. I think you should take out “reminding you in case you forgot" And Put only UmmhFilms. Ummah 1 word then below that the word films. On the bottom you can put “the reminder season 1 & 2”
I didn’t like the background on option # 2- the yellow pictures! May be you can use the background from option # 1 without the frame!
Red background with “Ummahfilms” tilted on the top left corner, instead of the frame. Leave the tag as it is.
So far, #2 seems to be the most popular. As in regards of having The Reminder or Season 1 & 2 on the front, I don't think its necessary.
Keep in mind that this is a 6 panel DVD (two DVDs and 4 panels for text/design) so there is plenty of room to put other text. Also, most people will flip it over (to read the back panel) if they are curious about what it is.

Hi..I like the #2..the message is Concise and direct.
The design simms like graffit or aerosol paint..so sugest the home made idea..i suposed that was the idea when u put to Ali in a "his home" in the 3 options.
But i think u missed information:for the people who actually knows the Reminder videos it is easy to distinguish..but what about the people who never loocks the videos before?
if the idea for the videos is remind..where is that idea represented in the option 2?

I voted for 1 but I like 2 as well. If 2 had a "price tag" that stated contains ALL episodes from season 1 and 2 + bonus footage, then it would have been my choice. I really feel that since this will not be the only DVD that the cover should state what the set contains.
Also there is only one quotation mark before season 1 & 2 on 1.
Oh yeah, the # 1 Muslim video from the internet can be saved for the back panel. If I wanted to sell it in Best Buy I would put it on the front, but anyone who is buying the DVDs knows what it is.
One thing I didn't consider is that Seasons 1&2 would be listed on the spine of the case, so if that is the case then I would vote for 2.

I like options 1 and 2, but just wanted to mention that there seem to be a couple of typos that should be fixed for the final design inshaAllah (only applicable to designs 1 and 3):
a) "Seasons 1 & 2" (seasons should be plural)
b) There's an unmatched quotation mark in front of "Season ... but it is not closed (it may be better to leave it out completely)

I like 1, but i think that quote of #1 should be removed and have reminding you just incase you forgot-and that should be a fine!
Or if your going to go for no.2, then i think you should chnage the backgrnd pick, of yeelow with the faces, to the red and that would look really gud inshallah./

That's important because people think this DVD will be the ONLY The Reminder DVD collection.

In spite of my limited vocabulary in english (i am french), i have watched all your videos and fortunately for me, i have understand it pretty well.
I really appreciate your approach to teach islam topics with sense of humour and serious as well, i hope that you will make a season 3, is it in your projects? Concerning the picture to illustrate the DVD cover, i think that choose the number 2, will be really cool, because it disclose better your funny attitude. that's my humble opinion. Congratulation for your smashing work, and i encourage you to carry on because it's adventageous to everybody, muslims and non muslims.

my suggested quote would be "Featuring the Most Viewed Muslim Videos Online" since the videos are featured on the DVD. also i think on the second design cover, there should be a label somewhere saying it's season 1 and 2.
