Marriage Interviews - Season 3 Ummah Films Video

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

InshAllah my next project will be www.halfourdeen. My goal is to put a unique spin on the way Muslim Matchmaking has been done in the past and to develop a site like no other Muslim Matchmaking site. Just like my past projects, I have no plans to make just another parody of what is out there for Muslims but rather to take the current awkward process to the next level InshAllah. I've pitched my ideas to teams of programmers and some have said its too difficult while others have given me crazy quotes ($25,000).

Honestly, it would be pointless to come out with something similar to what is out there but it seems like taking a leap of trying something new comes with a big price tag. Nevertheless, I'm motivated and I think its something that will change the way the current websites do things. If you are interested, please put in your email address at halfourdeen.com inshAllah and I'll inform you once its live so you can try it out.

Update:

Salam Br. Ali - I can see you decided to put post some of the extra items from the DVD on this video. I always think you are at the top of your game so-to-speak when it comes to the marriage topic, so insha'allah you will be successful at this new project that you are planning with Halfourdeen.com. Wishing you all the best. Br.Anees

Assalamu Alaykum, Thank you Baba Ali for bringing back the reminder series, I pray Allah (SWT) reward you for your efforts towards the DEEN. On the topic, I think it is very true, and I totally agree with you. Most single muslims are unmarried because they chose to. I think it will be good if we stop daydreaming and start looking at the reality of things.
The Halfourdeen.com project you are embarking upon would be successful Insha Allah. Best of Wishes.
Wassallam

A'Salaamu walaykum,

I must say I am pleased to view your videos. I find them funny, spiritual and they offer Islamic guidance in an unoffensive manner. I admire the humor behind your advise, but yet you manage to display your seriousness of the issues that so many Muslims face. It is refreshing and thought provoking. I support your venture into Muslim Matchmaking and I am available for comment and idea's. Keep up the good work. Barak'Allahu Feek, Insha'Allaah...

As Salamu Alaikum Ali,

I am very excited to hear about this new project. It's been my intention to help Muslim brothers and sisters get married also. If possible I would like to connect with you to discuss this project further ... I have an interest and also computer science background - I am hoping I can help bring something to the table. I know how difficult the marriage process is. I would very much like to help bring ease into this process. Let's talk...send me an email insha Allah.

Assalam Alaykum, i'm soo glad your back with your videos. It funny because everything you said is what i say to my mom when i tell her about looking for a husband. She thinks there is no such thing as a religious American Muslim and i should get married to anyone who asks me seeing that i'm 27 years old and stop fantisizing about him coming because he's not, and she thinks i'm crazy because i refuse to exept any money when the time comes.I would rather him teach me a passage from the Quran because that is something i can forever.
Well happy someone else gets me. Keep up the great work.

Whoh where did I land! – Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters in Islam:

The topic of marriage can be difficult. Especially if you’re a sister who lives in the west. Take for instance the idea of people(both looking for marriage) not crossing each other’s paths at Muslim conferences.

Many scholars discuss the idea of a brother approaching marriage. As for sisters, how do we approach a brother when we decide that we’re ready for marriage without crossing Islamic boundaries?

I mean, rrrrrreally --- “umm, assalamu alaikum. I’m young, arab, and very muslim given that I’m at this conference too. I’m nice, and I can say the word “people” with a “p” not a “b”. I can cook too. Wanna talk about marriage?”

Setting high dowry, or looking for Mr. good god I’m handsome Pitt to come knocking on our door ….. yes, but you know, I recently found out that some sisters haven’t even thought of the question: “what do I want in a husband?”

They think it’s enough to say “has good deen, prays, fasts and performs all the duties of Islam”. They’ve never thought of how life – like where to live, the finances, common interests, education, family, children, personality, temperament – matters in all this.

They haven’t thought it out.

So from my frustration with this, I recently started a blog called quest for the right one (www.questfortherightone.blogspot.com)

It tries to get everyone talking and forming some sort of feasible, reasonable criteria for when they approach the question of finding their other half.

Visit the place, get comfortable there and tell us what u think.

Assalamualaikum brother Ali,

Great stuff, can't wait to see more. Its true that its tough to find someone nowadays. The guys would even admit that most of them guys are no good. And usually, the good brothers are already married (like you, Ali).

Btw, is that halfourdeen.com for US residents only?
