Broken Camera: Reminder Videos are on pause

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

A brother borrowed my Canon XL2 video camera a while ago and unfortunately it wasn't returned in the same condition. It was returned with a problem that has been getting worse and worse. So I had to send my camera back to Canon to get fixed. Since its an expensive camera, it isn't cheap fixing even a minor problem. I guess its like having a luxury car (if something goes wrong, you're going to pay a pretty penny to get even the smallest things fixed).

The problem is that while my camera is being repaired, I have no choice but to put the Reminder series is on hold. Since Ummah Films doesn't own its own camera (the XL2 is my own personal camera), I can't borrow a camera from Ummah Films in the meantime. Thus, I'm officially on pause :)

All my work with Ummah Films is done as a volunteer so I don't get paid for any of my effort or time (which is the way I want it) but at the same time I don't want to go into negative, especially when it comes to paying for such occurrences. So as much as I want to support other brothers, I can no longer let anyone borrow my camera or equipment.

Baba Ali on Islam Channel's Saturday Live Show Tonight!

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

Alhamdulillah, the Ummah Films event went well yesterday with a packed audience at Imperial College. This was the largest Ummah Films audience I have seen yet and it was very exciting meeting new Muslims. I have a great time Alhamdulillah. The event was filmed by Islam Channel and will be broadcast on their station in the near future InshAllah.

I was invited by Islam Channel to come to their new Saturday Night Live show tonight. The show will be broadcast live so if you're in the UK, be sure to tune in InshAllah.

Ummah Films London: SOLD OUT (again)

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

Assalammu' Alaikum,

I'm arrived in London this afternoon (trying to adjust to the time change). Everybody has an accent here (or maybe its just me) and the money looks funny. Anyways, I just checked the comment section and it looks like the event is sold out again. This whole thing was originally "just a talk at our college" and somehow it became "an event". I look forward to meeting you all InshAllah. Many of you know me because of listening to me thinking out loud on the Reminder videos but now I get a chance to meet you InshAllah.

There will be a table selling Ummah Films shirts (both long and short sleeve). Since there is a limited supply, if we run out of your size at the event, you can buy it from the Ummah Films store.

I hope to see you all there InshAllah.

Ummah Films London: 100 more seats available!

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

Don't delay, book today! 100 additional seats available!

The College has confirmed that we will have tiered (stadium-style) seating in the Hall. The event was originally sold out (about 800 seats) but there was still a large demand of people who wanted to come. The organizers of the event manage to open up additional seating so there is another 100 seats available! We have already sold out once and once these final 100 seats are gone, that will be it! There will be no tickets sold at the door and based on the demand thus far, don't expect these additional 100 seats to last long.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have booked and paid online, you should have received an e-mail with your barcoded tickets attached. You need to print these tickets out and bring them with you on the day.

For bookings and ticket-related queries:
Mohammed Marikar or Anna Cooke, bookings@theisoc.com

Ummah Films London: SOLD OUT!

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT, but... We are trying to find out if we can extend the capacity of the location by installing tiered (stadium-style) seating. If this is possible, we'll have another 150 seats. But we don't know yet. Please check back regularly for the latest news on this.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you have booked and paid online, you should have received an e-mail with your barcoded tickets attached. You need to print these tickets out and bring them with you on the day. If you have not received this e-mail, or cannot print out your tickets, please let us know immediately by e-mailing us at bookings@theisoc.com.

Please note that we do not plan to sell tickets on the day. Only those who have paid online are guaranteed seats. As mentioned earlier, if you attempted to book online but have not paid, then your order would have been cancelled and your tickets given to the next paying customer.
