hey ali,

I've just watched all 14 of your vlogs on youtube and I love the work you've accomplished (by Allah's Grace). There is a film festival happening in the UAE during April which might interest you and which you may want to enter a film in (or let anyone else know) called Pause & Play Intl Film Festival. You can check it out and submit films online at www.aus.edu/ppiff
Cheers.

I guess ur more likely to read a comment here than on youtube, so here goes...

who said to you that the feet have to be joined up in salat?

bro please don't become a "Salafi"/Wahhabi

I'm writing this obviously in reference to that video clip in which you complain about guys not joining up their feet.

Thank you.

Seeing as you're in England, would you consider coming to Manchester? Its not too far from London, 2 hours on the train.

"Wrap up warm...its always cold."

In the words of Brother Ali: Are you kidding me?!

London is currently experiencing a taste of things to come, i.e., Global Warming. Right now it is 10-12oC in the middle of February, when it should be in the minus figures!

At this rate, i'd suggest he bring some T-shirts, knee-length shorts, and wrap-around shades! hehe

Oh, just out of curiosity... what are the Ummah Films peeps planning to do when they're in London? Are you guys really coming all this way just to premiere a Reminder episode?! I thought you might shoot some footage for one of your projects too... i have some [limited] film experience (from my school days in film club! ahem), so if you're looking for a budding actress....... you'll have to look elsewhere, cos i can't act to save my life!!

I was more into directing & producing, but that job's already taken... oh oh, i could be your on location producer! hehe

assalammu' alaikum,

to answer your question iMuslim, my intention for going to London was just to visit family. I was then asked if I could give a talk there and then the talk became an event :)

Alhamdulillah, all the organizing has been soley by the Muslims in the UK handling this event. All I have done so far is making the commitment of being at the event. The credit goes to those who are putting this together.

I arrive on Wednesday and leave on Sunday so I'm only there for a few days. Given the fact that I will be at this event on Friday, it makes it pretty hard trying to travel within in the UK. I wish I could stay longer.

your brother in Islam,

Ali

This event will be broadcasted on national television, Islam Channel

The Islam Channel Broadcast has not yet been confirmed, just to let you know, however we are in the process of dealing with this issue.

An update about the event will be given in the next 3/4 days, insha-Allah.

Just to let everyone know the tickets can be booked online in advance. More details about the online ticketing system will be given soon, insha-Allah.

Intresting, the brother hasn't even landed yet he is getting quries thrown at him from left and right? We need role models for islam not stars.

The only reason I will attend is to hear what the bro has to say? But its funny when lecture of deen and hereafter are broadcast the youth run a mile (and I speak for myself before anyone else)

salaam aleikum,

whatever you do during this talk, I would ask that those attending this talk not turn it into one of those brain dead British govt. funded "radical" middle way nonsense

http://pmunadebate.blogspot.com/2006/10/radical-wrong-way.html

with groupies fawning over empty speakers. What would be better and more fruitful would be an exchange of ideas and offers of input and improvement by some in the UK (maybe even a suggestion for future topics/films?). These are trying times for Muslims politically and we cannot afford to waste our time acting like groupies and little kids while so much is going on.

salaam aleikum from the Motor city,
skn

Alhamdulillah, that we have such proactive and insightful members of the Ummah with us; may Allah reward you for your nasihah, and indeed make this event worthy and useful for us all.

However, please do not belittle the comments of others - except my comment; i know it was dumb, but i was just curious, and also joking, & i know not everyone 'gets' my humour. (I wasn't even expecting a reply, so jazakallah bro Ali for the '411' - is that right?)

I see love & enthusiasm in the comments of my fellow UF fans; not just for the brothers & sisters running the show, but more importantly, for the good advice they are sharing with us. May Allah reward them abundantly for this service.

I also see many young people coming to Islam through this relaxed, yet informative, method of teaching. Perhaps they are flocking towards it because there is less finger-pointing and hand-waving involved, unlike some of the talks i have been to.

I am quite excited to see what you guys have to say on the day now, so please start preparing. In fact, brother Ali, i think you should invite these guys up with you on stage, so we can learn a few things from them! This is NOT sarcasm by the way; if you have something important to share, we all need to hear it.

Jazakallah for your time, and hope you take my comment as tongue-in-cheek nasihah; no offence intended. I'd be a stinking hypocrite if i ever said i'd never been less-than-tactful when giving out advice! I messed up big time only a couple of weeks ago... so looking at myself first, as always.

Wa'salam

Asalamu alaikum,

Mashallah, may Allah reward you for all your efforts for Him and may he bestow guidance through your work for our brothers and sisters in Islam Inshallah (it is very much needed for our Ummah today)

Would just like to ask wether you have an advertisement/poster for the London event as I could promote it for you as I have access to alot of young muslims here in London.

I shall definately be there, cant wait...
