"Ask Baba Ali' Show debuts 02-01-08

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

The new "Ask Baba Ali" show will be premiering on Friday, February 1st, 2008 InshAllah

As the Reminder series became more and more popular, we started get more and more emails from viewers asking for advice on various situations. We couldn't answer many of the fiqhy questions (since those are best answers by scholars), but we did try to help with our advice of various situations based on our limited knowledge.

Many of these questions are the type of questions you would ask your friends. For example, the question for our first show which debuts 2/1/08, is "How do i get out of going to the office Xmas party...without making everyone think im a living ebeneezer scrooge?". As many of you know, many of the outside office parties deal with alcohol and other haram activities so its best to avoid such situations. Being that many Muslims work in the office environment, I thought this would be a good question to talk about for the first show.

Anyways, the show is just an experiment (just like the Reminder) so if you audience picks up on it, then I'll continue making them InshAllah

I'm having Iman Studios build the site for the new show InshAllah. For the time being, I just put up a temporary page where people can submit their questions

Salam,

Is that date using the American (month-day-year) or British (day-month-year) system? Btw, by the time the show debuts, the answer for the question will kind of be a little late...

Wassalam

i think you`ll do a great job by this new idea ask baba ali inschaAllah!
And i guess your first topic is a really important one. I started to work last month and next month they`ll have a party - i already decided not to go- i thougt if i don`t join their parties from the beginning no one would be suprise if i go once and than stop it at all! Maybe i`m a little bit greenly but i notice that muslim brother or sisters who started to visit this parties find it hard to stop it- afraid to discuss their change. I know sometimes at work without parties they start to drink because of a birtday- and at the same time they discuss job issues- what about this situation? Sisters and brothers don`t know what to do- they need to know the information but don`t want to be in a group which is drinking?
Whatever - just cant wait for 01.02.08 isA
May Allah reward you!
Wassalam

mmm...wonder if you could make a show of it?

i don't think the show is suppose to be about Baba Ali. he didn't reveal anything about his personal life in his previous videos so i would assume he wouldn't be doing so in the new videos either.

the show has never been about ali
its always been about his topics

now it looks like the new show is about our topics or umm...i mean our questions which sounds pretty cool

Assalam Aleykoum wa rahmatouLlah wa barakatouh :-)

I think (and hope)that this next show would be really great like the previous ones inchaAllah !!

I have an idea (if I can modestly help) it's to talk about a very spread sin (sorry I'm not sure that my english is correct..): the gossip (I mean " al namima, ghayba .." )and lies etc which...lots of muslim practice !!! and we don't always know how stooop them, all above when they deny our advices...so I think it would be a reaaaly good remind for everybody inchaAllah.

May Allah(AWJ) keep us in the straight path ( amine !!)

Peace ;-)

Assalamo Alaykom Wahibabar de France,

InshaAllah, I'll be doing something like the reminder videos for Ummah Films but mine would have a women's perspective.

My first topic is on backbiting and slandering and because it is one sickness we Muslims have that need to cure...

So InshaAllah sometime in early 2008 the show will start and that would be the first episode. :)

salaam aleikum,

given the recent killing of the sister in Toronto, I think that you should definitely consider doing one show/episode on "honor killings" -- why they happen, why they are wrong (since "honor" also encompasses the man), and what can be done to prevent this from recurring. This is a global problem among the Ummah that is sadly not being addressed.
