LOST - Yeah, its all gone!
Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,
They say the best ideas are written on napkins. I use to write my ideas on anything I could get my hands on and eventually I realized that I needed to organize my thoughts if I wanted to put something together. So a few months ago, I started saving all my notes, ideas, suggestions, etc...on a USB device. Actually, it wasn't just any USB drive, but it was the world's smallest flash drie (see above). I figured the small size wouldn't make it a hassle to carry around. Unfortunately, it was too small and I lost it and all the data on it. After searching for it for over a week, in every possible place, I have come to the conclusion that it is gone.
The problem is that all the ideas that I had planned out for Season 2 was on that USB drive. So when it came to making a new episode last week, I had nothing but a blank piece of paper and a bad case writer's block. So after this whole fiasco, I decided to buy a laptop so I can start saving everything on it InshAllah. Also, I figure having a laptop will allow me to go mobile and maybe do an episode when I travel.
This week, I may be attending the MAS Conference in Los Angeles, On December 1st & 2nd, I will be guest speaking at a conference in Tampa. And the following weekend, I will be in San Diego for a screening of the Reminder - Season 1 InshAllah. With the above schedule and given the fact that I am starting over again, it looks like the next episode won't be until after December 9th.
Somethings weren't meant to be. No matter what, I have to say Alhamdulillah. Allah (swt) knows best why things happen. I pray to Him to bring me towards companions and projects that will bring me closer to Him and take me away from companions and projects that will take me away from Him. Maybe it was best to start over and skip the ideas I had on the USB drive.

I was beginning to wonder where season 2 is off to, well i guess now i know its all gone - pretty annoying when that happens - i bet you put a lot of time and effort into planning it and all - but agree with the fact that Allah knows best.
It's good to see you haven't been put off by it, Alhamdulillah, keep the videos going. - I guess the delay isn't as long as PS3 lol.
People get your thinking caps on and help this brother plan season 2 all over again. - I'm lost for suggestions lol.

Alhamdullilah. The great things about good Muslims is that they say Alhamdullilah in any situation, whether good or bad (and those are terms that we ourselves put onto situations eventhough we don't know the big picture.) So, Alhamdullilah...que sera sera.

ameen to ur beautiful dua Ali. It is true, in all the steps we take and decisions we make, we must always ask Allah to bring us to that which brings us closer to Him. There is surely a great wisdom behind it all.. if you find it later, the delay was good, if u never find it, then the loss was good.
May He protect u.
A little reminder, for myself first, be sure to make big and sincere intentions before your travels for the various talks and conferences.

omg i had 1 of those things once and my 5page essay was on it and i lost it too...i think those things are like meant to be lost or something subhanallah sometimes you find things after you really needed them.Like you might find it after you do season 2 all over again...inshaalah!!!
oh you poor man i was really looking forward to your next episodes, inshallah allah will give you more topics to choose from. iv a great topic for you hey wat about mother in laws, doctors and nurses(when you go to them they say nufin is wrong with u if so, why do we go to them in the 1st place)

This happens all the time. Lost USB (and sometimes it just stops working) or file deletion etc..
But in all cases, Kaddara Allah Wa Masha2a Fa3al!!
Why not use MOZY? They keep autobackup your stuff on their servers giving you free 2GB. They store your files with 448bit encryption format. So it would take over 1000 year for a super computer to try to decrypt your files.
It's not for file sharing btw, pure backup solution.
And, if you subscribe in referal to a member, both you and the member get extra 256MBs...so both of them would be happy.
I am not trying to get more space beleive me since I am already subcribed to the 30GB plan...but I am trying to share a nice and simple solution.

Yeah bro happens all the time to me I leave things in a safe place... But the thing is is that it is soooo safe that even I cant remember where it is.
N e way after tearing my hair out not being able to find it I remember Allah and I turn to Him. I offer my salat and make dua to Him to help me find it and to make things easy for me. Alhamdulilah I always end up finding it.

So that's why Episode 2 hasn't aired yet. This is why you should always make a back up! (So says me who doesn't either!! :))
So someone somewhere has all your ideas for Season 2...maybe you should put up a "missing" poster for it.
Alhamdulillah for His infinite wisdom in all things. He knows what is best for us when we know not. You'll look back inshaAllah fondly in a few months and realise it happened for the best!!
Ultimately its all a test, things have been going really well for you Alhamdulillah. This is just a minor glitch inshaAllah.
This might be going off on a tangent to some people but I remember the story of Imam Ghazali RA when he was robbed by highwaymen and they took all his books. When Imam Ghazali RA asked for the books back the leader of the robbers laughed at him and said "How can you claim that you obtained their knowledge when we took it away from you and left you devoid of knowl-edge!"
Imam Ghazali RA was not phased by this and realised the wisdom in the robbers words. Thereafter he soon memorised all his works and strived even harder to gain and spread knowledge. May Allah SWT eternally be pleased with him.
This was an eg of someone learning and spreading sacred knowledge. But Brs what you are doing is inspirational and I know inshaAllah that it has touched many muslims lives around the globe, with the Qadr of Allah SWT.
So have faith in Him, which I dont doubt you do and keep on going inshaAllah. May He make this easy for you and grant you success from your efforts.
Allah is the best. ALLAH knows the best.AllaH will give u the best. Even if we the ppl really want to see the season2 of remainder but if Allah thinks its not good for u then be it. If it will take u away from Allah in anyway then i wish that we never see the reminder season 2

this Ramadan at one of the lectures i heard that reading the 9th ayah of Suratul-Imran 7x is helpfullwhen someone looses something.
about a month ago i lost the cap of mz usb and remembered this ayah only after searching for it 2 days. as you can guess, i found it the next morning at work.
i hope inshallah Allah will help you as well, don't give up brother. there could be something good in this of course, but i dont think you should just give up on all the work you did so far for the 2nd season. i hope inshaallah you find the usb.

So do you let people submit/recommend scripts? I have this idea. The thing non-muslims see us do the most, is pray in public! so why not do one called "What are the muslims up to" and talk about salat, and what to do if you run into someone praying, and how NOT to be scared of it!
