20,000+ views! (and that's just from youtube)

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

I checked the stats on Youtube.com this morning and it shows that we have 20,000+ views and counting. It looks like we are averaging more than a 1000 views a day on the youtube.com site alone. Alhamdulillah!

JazkaAllah kair for all those who have helped promote the videos by sending them to their email lists, putting them up on websites, or posting them in blogs/forums/myspace pages, etc...Please continue to let others know about the website and videos. If I know there is an audience out there, it motivates me to do more videos. Otherwise, I'm just looking at a camera lens and talking to myself.

We are just one day away from the release of the next episode! InshAllah!

Next Video Blog premieres this Friday

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

JazakAllah kair for everyone's feedback so far. InshAllah I make the intention to make a new VIDEO BLOG each week and premiere on the best day of the week, Friday. I'm not sure how long I can keep it up though so I'm going to take it one week at a time. Either until I get tired of doing it or until I'm run out of topics to discuss.

I type of most of my points that I want to discuss in each video blog. The majority of the video blog is improv, which I guess makes it more natural (instead of acting cuz I'm not much of an actor/comedian). Not sure if all of the video blogs will be funny and of course there will will always be the ones that were better than the others. Although, the blogs have some humor to them, they also have reminders to them as well.

One of the ideas behind the Video Blogs is to give me material to edit in my video editing software, which is the only way I can get better (by practicing). The idea of giving people some halal entertainment is icing on the cake InshAllah. Since I have yet to find any Muslim Video Blogs on the web, I figure Ummah Films can set the bar by doing this series InshAllah.

**Disclaimer: These video blogs are only something we are doing on the side and since they don't take priority over the films that we want to make, there may be times that I won't have a camera to film the video blog becuase it may be used for something else. Videoblog #2: Tips on what to watch out for when finding your spouse online

After lots of positive feedback on the first video blog experiment, we made another one. We filmed it in 15 minutes. Talked about ideas for the "tips" while eating pizza and edited it all the same night. A lot of it is just improv. Anyways, let's us know what you think InshAllah

Videoblog #1: Funny things at Jummah

I was thinking about making a video blog discussing the many topics that Muslims can relate to. I haven't found Muslim blogs on the net that are doing it so I said...I figured to try out this experiment InshAllah. The series of video blogs will be about issues that we may often think about but not necessarily talk about.

Muslim Wristband Commerical - Take 1

Thinking Brother and RF-7 teamed up to put together the first Muslim Wristband commercial which also stars Khalid. RF-7 had the camera and Thinking Brother had the directorial vision, these brothers produced something from nothing. The brothers put the commercial together with basically no planning, no scripting and no rehearsals in just a couple of hours. Without any further adue, here is the clip:

What's Happening: Ummah Films Update

Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,

Sorry for the lack of posts. Here is what's happening with Ummah Films:

RF-7 has completed filming Ummah Films first short, "Tomorrow Never Comes", and is currently in the process of preparing/organizing his clips to be sent to editing.

aureliak has finished her shooting script/storyboard for the Mecca to Medina commericial and is currently waiting for Arif to direct it.

only1deen & Thinking Brother are still working on coming up with script for their Muslim Wristbands commerical

Most of us hae been in "idle" mode since the next filming project hasn't been planned yet. Its like watching a movie and then pressing pause and then watching your screen for a long time on pause.

It sucks.

Thus, I'm working on a new idea (something simple to do between films) that can be posted on the blog. Its hard to explain but I plan to throw up the pilot in the next few days and follow it up with consistant video posts on the blog if we have an audience. I hope to debut it by this weekend InshAllah.
